请问下面两个句子哪个是正确的。

1.No matter what happens， you shouldn’t give up yourself.

2.No matter what happens， you shouldn’t give yourself up.

從语法角度来说，give yourself up是成立的。因为give up是动副短语，当宾语是代词时，应该位于副词之前。但是从含义来说，这两个句子都不正确。

你想表达的是：无论发生什么，你都不应该放弃你自己。可是英语中give up表示放弃时，句型是give sth. up而不是give sb. up，所以建议去掉yourself，变成这个句子：No matter what happens， you shouldn’t give up.

英语当中也确实有give sb. up这个句型。它的含义如下：

1. 投案、自首。如：After a week on the run he gave himself up to the police. 他逃跑一周后向警方投案自首了。

2. give sb. up= give up on sb.对某人不再抱有希望。如：There you are at last！ We’d given you up.你终于来了！我们都不抱希望了。His teachers seem to have given up on him.他的老师们似乎已不再对他抱有希望。

3. give sb. up 把某人让出去、舍弃某人。如：She had to give her baby up.她不得不舍弃孩子。I know deep down that I should give him up.我内心很清楚，我应该放他走。（不情愿地与某人分手）
