庆祝中荷建交50周年“荷兰花园”邀你共赴春天之约

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and the Netherlands, the Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Chongqing and People’s Government of Yuzhong District co-hosted the Netherlands Flower Installation for the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the Netherlands from March 4th to 13th at Guotai Plaza on Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. The opening ceremony on March 4th was attended by Huub Buise, the Consul-General of the Netherlands in Chongqing; Huang Maojun, District Mayor of the Yuzhong District People’s Government; Tang Wen, Inspector at Level I of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; Zhang Yuanhong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yuzhong District Committee, and consular officials in Chongqing and Chengdu from the United Kingdom, Hungary, the Philippines, Japan, Germany, Canada, and Italy.

Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government delivered a remark on the warm up video before the event. She expressed that the Netherlands is of key importance in Chongqing’s exchanges with the Europe. Since the Consulate-General of the Netherlands was established in Chongqing in 2013, interactions between the two sides have developed even closer in areas including logistics, education and culture. 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands, the Foreign Affairs Office stands ready to join hands with the Consulate-General of the Netherlands to hold various activities, so as to further expand and deepen our practical cooperation. We believe the exhibition, as a kick-off of a series of following activities, will improve Chongqing people’s understandings of the Netherlands, and the exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and the Netherlands will usher in a new chapter.

Huub Buise, the Consul-General of the Netherland in Chongqing addressed a speech: “the Netherlands established its Consulate-General in Chongqing in 2013. In the past decade, we have witnessed the great development on infrastructure and various industries in Chongqing, a city playing an increasingly significant role in connecting China and Europe.” He expressed that the Netherlands made a right decision of establishing a Consulate-General in Chongqing. Looking ahead, the Netherlands is looking forward to working with Chongqing in confronting with global challenges including climate change, and promoting more sustainable and inclusive economic development.

“Tides of the two rivers flow in the lovely spring; strength of the metropolis grow with great vitality.” Zhang Yuanhong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Yuzhong District Committee said Yuzhong District has been focusing on building itself into an International Exchange Center in Central and Western China. We have joined hands with consulates-general in Chongqing to conduct various cultural exchanges activities, in a bid to flourish the opening-up economy, and to promote high-quality development and high-quality life in Yuzhong District. This event functions as a bridge of exchanges to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two sides. Looking ahead, we wish to expand cooperation in economy, trade, education, science and technology, culture, art, etc. to enhance mutual trust for a steady development of friendship between China and the Netherlands.

At the opening ceremony, guests pieced together the official logo for 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. The logo is in red and orange representing China and the Netherlands respectively. With curling lines resembling the water flow as basic elements, the logo shapes like an incomplete number “50” in the middle and Chinese characters of people at the bottom, showing the important juncture of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations and a new starting point of China-Netherlands relationship starting from the 50th anniversary and the development going forward.

Followers are arranged to create a unique “Dutch Garden” in the shape of the Logo. The installations adopt the unique patters of Delft blue porcelain of the Netherlands. A total of 50,000 flowers including various tulips, hyacinth, roses, and calla lily are displayed, presenting a sea of flower as colorful as ribbons, providing people in Chongqing a live experience of the romance from the Netherlands.

为庆祝中荷建交50周年,3月4日至13日,在市政府外办的支持下,荷兰驻重庆总领事馆和渝中区人民政府在解放碑步行街国泰广场联合主办中荷建交50周年荷兰花艺装置展活动。4日,荷兰驻重庆总领事包适、渝中区区长黄茂军、市政府外办一级巡视员唐文、渝中区区委副书记张远洪以及英国、匈牙利、菲律宾、日本、德国、加拿大、意大利等国驻渝蓉领事官员共同出席活动开幕式。

市政府外办主任王雯为开幕式发表暖场视频致辞。她表示,荷兰是重庆在欧洲的重要交往国家。2013年荷兰在重庆设立总领事馆后,两地在物流、教育、文化等多领域联系愈加密切。2022年,在中荷建交50周年的大背景下,市政府外办将与荷兰驻重庆总领事馆携手举办多项活动,进一步深化务实合作。相信作为系列活动的开端,此次中荷建交50周年荷兰花艺装置展将增进重庆市民对荷兰的了解,推动重庆与荷兰交往合作开启新篇章。

荷兰驻重庆总领事包适在致辞中称:“2013年,荷兰在重庆开设总领事馆。过去十年,我们见证了重庆基础设施以及各行各业的巨大发展,重庆在中国与欧洲之间的互联互通中发挥着越来越重要的作用。”他表示,荷兰在重庆设立总领事馆是正确的决策。未来希望和重庆携手共同应对气候变化等全球挑战,致力于推动更加可持续和更具有包容性的经济发展。

“两江涌春潮,巴渝尽朝晖。”渝中区区委副书记張远洪表示,近年来,渝中区紧紧围绕中西部国际交往中心核心区建设,联动驻渝领事馆开展丰富多样的文化交流活动,带动开放型经济蓬勃发展,推动渝中高质量发展、创造高品质生活迈出新步伐,取得新成就。此次活动为纪念中荷建交50周年搭建沟通的桥梁,期待未来在经贸、教育、科技、文化、艺术等更多领域扩大合作、增进互信,共同助推中荷两国友好关系稳步向前。

启动仪式上,出席嘉宾共同拼接出完整的中荷建交50周年官方徽标。据介绍,该徽标采用“中国红”和“荷兰橙”,由抽象的水流线条组成,以数字“50”为主要造型,底部形成重叠的“人”字。“50”呈未写完的样貌,既体现纪念建交50周年这一重要节点,又寓意中荷关系将以50周年为新起点,继续向前发展。

此次庆祝活动以花为媒,以中荷建交50周年的巨大标志形状打造特色“荷兰花园”。其装置使用了荷兰特色“代尔夫特蓝瓷”元素。现场共展出5万朵鲜花,包含多个品种的荷兰国花郁金香,并配以风信子、玫瑰和马蹄莲等特色花卉,在城市里打造出一片花海,如彩带般五颜六色,为重庆市民和游客提供了独特的方式,感受来自荷兰的浪漫。
