Consular Officers in Chongqing Planting Trees at Hongyan Park

On February 22nd when the 44th Chinese Arbor Day arrived， the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government and Yuzhong District Government co-organized the 2022 Tree Planting at the International Friendship Park with the theme of Building a Bridge of Diplomatic Ties for Lasting Friendship. Consular officers and representatives in Chongqing were invited to plant trees at Hongyan Park and unveil for the International Friendship Park.

Symbolizing long-lasting friendship， nearly 40 trees were planted with the joint efforts of consular officers of consulates-general of Hungary， the Philippines， Belarus， Japan， Canada， the UK， Cambodia， and Italy in Chongqing， leaders of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government， leaders of the CPC Yuzhong District Committee， Yuzhong District Government， Yuzhong District People’s Congress， and the CPPCC Yuzhong District Committee， as well as students and teachers of Hongyan Primary School. Crape Myrtle， Chinese Flowering Crab Apple， and Plum trees added a splash of green to the pleasant spring.

Wang Wen， Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government said that these trees were symbols of friendship between Chongqing and the world. She hoped that more international friends would plant trees there and we could work together for a better Chongqing and a green home of Mother Earth.

Consular officers also believed this was a meaningful event， willing to join hands with China in pursuing green development and exploring new cooperation opportunities with Chongqing.

外國驻渝领事官员在红岩公园共建友谊林

2月22日，在我国第44个植树节来临之际，市政府外办与渝中区政府共同主办“植下友谊树 共建友谊林”活动，以“外事架彩桥 友谊万年长”为主题，邀请各国驻重庆总领馆领事官员代表在红岩公园植树，并为“国际友谊林”揭牌。

来自匈牙利、菲律宾、白俄罗斯、日本、加拿大、英国、柬埔寨、意大利等国驻渝总领馆领事官员，以及市政府外办，渝中区区委、区人大、区政府、区政协领导，红岩小学师生代表等，共同种下近40株友谊之树。紫薇、海棠、美人梅等树木迎风矗立在山间，为明媚的春天增添了绿意。

与世界各国友好交流的情谊，期待今后有更多国际友好人士来此植下友谊树，共同建设美丽重庆，共同建设绿色地球家园。

各国驻重庆总领馆领事官员代表也表示，此次活动很有意义，愿同中国一道，共同努力实现绿色发展。以共建友谊林为契机，开启与重庆的新合作。

The Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government Discussing Cooperation with Chongqing Broadcasting Group and Hualong Newsnet Group

On February 17th and 23rd， Zhang Yaxi， Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government led teams on field visits to Chongqing Broadcasting Group and Hualong Newsnet Group.

At Chongqing Broadcasting Group， Zhang Yaxi and her team visited the corporate culture exhibition corridor， convergence media news center， broadcasting area， and the live-streaming studio of Sunshine Chongqing， a program of Voice of Chongqing. A meeting was held with leaders of Chongqing Broadcast Group where a video was played about the recent progress of the Group’s international cooperation. The two sides took stock of the past achievements and exchanged insights for deepening the cooperation.

At Hualong Newsnet Group， Zhang Yaxi and her colleagues went to the broadcasting studios， center for mobilizing online resources， and the convergence media center. Hualong presented its reporting of foreign affairs events in Chongqing， the development history， progress and achievements， convergence media matrix， and the work related to international communication. The two sides discussed ways to leverage their respective resources and explore spaces for collaborations.

A common understanding was reached that they would base the work on their own features and strengths， jointly enhance the ability to make the voices better heard in the world， tap the potential of foreign affairs services in promoting growth， present Chongqing’s image as an open city， and contribute to the development of the city toward a Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China.

市政府外辦与重庆广电集团、重庆华龙网集团共商合作

2月17日、23日，市政府外办副主任张娅茜率队分别赴重庆广播电视集团（总台）、重庆华龙网集团调研。

在重庆广电集团，张娅茜一行参观了广电文化长廊、融媒体新闻中心、广播直播区，以及重庆之声《阳光重庆》等栏目录制现场，并与集团相关负责人座谈交流，观看广电集团近期国际合作项目视频，回顾双方过往合作成果，就下一步深化合作交换意见建议。

在重庆华龙网集团，张娅茜一行参观了华龙网演播室、网络空间资源指挥中心和融媒体新闻中心，观看其对重庆外事工作的典型报道并座谈交流，了解集团发展历程、发展成果以及融媒体矩阵、国际传播工作开展等情况，深挖资源禀赋，探讨合作空间。

各方表示合作空间广阔，将发挥各自的特色和优势，共同加强国际传播能力建设，不断将外事资源转化成发展资源，提升重庆的开放形象，助力中西部国际交往中心建设。

Exploring Cooperation Opportunities at a Virtual Meeting Between Chongqing and Bahia of Brazil

On February 18th， Chongqing and Bahia of Brazil held a video meeting to explore the complementarities in resources， tap the potential for exchanges and cooperation， and pool strengths for closer interactions.

Since the establishment of sister-city ties in 2011， there have been frequent interactions of senior officials between Chongqing and Bahia and tangible results in the economic cooperation and trade. Zhou Yi， Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government expressed the willingness to improve cooperation and interactions with Bahia in wider areas like economy， trade， education， science and technology， etc. so as to unleash the cooperation potential and share the development opportunities.

Danilo Melo， Deputy Head of the education authority of Bahia said that the government of Bahia had been promoting interactions between China and Brazil， especially exchanges in culture and education among the young people between Chongqing and Bahia. The meeting was an opportunity to explore cooperation potential with Chongqing in areas like cultural and educational exchanges so as to improve the mutual understanding and mutual trust between the young population.

重庆市视频连线巴西巴伊亚州探讨合作机遇

2月18日，重庆与巴西巴伊亚州在外事大楼举行视频交流会，积极挖掘互补优势，探讨合作交往潜能，助推两地深入交流发展。

重庆与巴伊亚州自2011年缔结友好市州以来，双方高层互动频繁，在经贸合作中取得务实成果。市政府外办副主任周毅表示，希望以此次视频会为契机，进一步加强两地沟通交流，促进两地在经贸、教育、科技等方面开展更广泛的互动合作，释放合作潜能、共享发展机遇。

巴伊亞州教育厅副厅长达尼洛·梅洛表示，巴伊亚州政府一直以来致力于促进巴中两国的交流，尤其注重巴伊亚州和重庆两州市的青少年文化教育交流，希望借此机会与重庆深挖合作潜力，携手开展多种文化教育交流活动，促进青少年间的相互了解和信任。

Seminar on International Communication Capabilities for Foreign Affairs Service Personnel Held in Yuzhong District

On February 25th， the opening ceremony and the first session were held for the Seminar on International Communication Capabilities for Foreign Affairs Service Personnel， co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government and Yuzhong District Government. Zhou Yi， Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government and Deng Guanghuai， Vice District Mayor of Yuzhong attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Li Luoman， Director of Chongqing Translation and Interpretation Center， provided a snapshot of the Center. Liu Junjie and Hu Xiyue， translators/interpreters of the Center， shared their insights on the topic of translation and interpreting practices during foreign affairs events.

There will be six sessions of the Seminar where experience in foreign affairs services and English translation of important expressions will be shared. This is one of the ways to help personnel of Yuzhong Government to broaden their minds and improve capabilities of engaging in international interactions. The first session saw the participation of nearly 80 personnel in foreign affairs services of Yuzhong Government， including representatives from the Members of Foreign Affairs Working Commission of the CPC Yuzhong District Committee， relevant government authorities， sub-district offices， and administration offices.

“外事干部国际交往能力研讨班”在渝中区开班

2月25日，由市政府外办和渝中区政府共同主办的“外事干部国际交往能力研讨班”进渝中举行开班仪式及首期分享会。市政府外办副主任周毅、渝中区政府副区长邓光怀出席开班仪式并讲话。

市外事翻译中心主任李洛曼介绍了中心情况，胡西悦、刘俊杰两位翻译骨干围绕“外事翻译工作的内涵”“外事接待翻译实践”并结合外事活动真实情境作分享。

研讨班计划开展6期，交流分享外事经验，讲解重要内容英文表述等，助力渝中区外事干部进一步开阔视野、拓展思维、提升能力。渝中区委外事工作委员会成员单位及相关部门、街道、管委会近80名外事干部参加首期分享会。

Celebration Events to be Held in Chongqing for the 30th Anniversary of China-Belarus Diplomatic Relations

On February 14th， Li Mingquan， Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government met with Dzmitry Yemelyanau， Consul-General of Belarus in Chongqing at Chongqing FAO Building.

2022 celebrates the 30th anniversary of China-Belarus diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of Chongqing-Minsk sister-city ties. Since the launch of China-Belarus Year of Regions， said Li Mingquan， Chongqing and the Consulate-General of Belarus in Chongqing have worked together in an array of activities， yielding positive results. In January， we saw the Photo Exhibition Marking the 30th Anniversary of China-Belarus Diplomatic Relations and the Opening Ceremony of Chongqing-Minsk TV Week. Going forward， the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government will follow the roadmap for interactions and cooperation in 2022 agreed with the Consulate-General of Belarus in Chongqing， facilitate practical collaborations in fields such as economy， trade， logistics， digital economy， culture， education， sister-city interactions， etc. in a bid to promote all-round cooperation between Chongqing and Belarus and contribute to the growth of China-Belarus Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Dzmitry Yemelyanau， Consul-General of Belarus in Chongqing， expressed the hope to work with the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government in staging celebration events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of China-Belarus diplomatic relations. The two sides will enhance communication， jointly bring Chongqing-Belarus all-round cooperation to new heights， and work for common development.

重慶将举办中白建交30周年配套庆祝活动

2月14日，市政府外办副主任李明全在外事大楼与白俄罗斯驻重庆总领事叶·德米特里进行工作会谈。

2022年既是中白建交30周年、中白地方合作年，又恰逢重庆与明斯克州结好5周年。李明全表示，自中白地方合作年启动以来，重庆与白俄罗斯驻重庆总领事馆开展了系列合作，取得积极成效。1月，举行了中白建交30周年图片展暨重庆—明斯克州电视周开播仪式。接下来，市政府外办将按照双方达成的年度友好交流合作路线图，着力深化在经贸、物流、数字经济、人文、教育、友城等领域务实合作，进一步增进重庆与白俄罗斯全方位友好往来，更好服务中白全面战略伙伴关系发展。

叶·德米特里表示，白俄罗斯驻重庆总领事馆将在中白建交30周年背景下，与市政府外办合作办好配套庆祝交流活动。双方将进一步加强互动，共同推动白俄罗斯与重庆各领域交流合作再上新台阶，实现共同发展。

Working Conference Held by the Office of the Leading Group for Developing Chongqing into the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China

On February 11th， Feng Zimin， Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government， chaired the working conference among members of the Leading Group for Developing Chongqing into the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China. Recent progress was debriefed， discussions were held， and suggestions were pooled on the work for the next step.

The following requirements were put forward during the meeting： 1） taking the development of the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China as an important mission; 2） taking on the responsibilities and seeing that all priority tasks are carried out; 3） enhancing coordination and cooperation to form synergy during the process; 4） managing the progress on a regular basis and addressing challenges in a timely manner; and 5） sharing and learning from each other’s experience and promoting good practices.

市中西部国际交往中心建设工作领导小组办公室召开成员单位联络员工作会议

2月11日，市政府外办党组成员、副主任冯子敏主持召开市中西部国际交往中心建设工作领导小组成员单位联络员工作会议。会议通报中西部国际交往中心建设相关工作情况，讨论研究有关工作事项，并结合工作实际集智聚力、建言献策。

会议要求，一是要提高站位，高度重视中西部国际交往中心建设工作;二是要履职尽责，确保重点工作任务落地落实落细;三是要加强协作，形成推动各项工作的强劲合力;四是要定期调度，及时研究解决难点问题;五是要交流互鉴，大力宣传好经验和好做法。

Chongqing Donating 400，000 Masks to Nepal

On February 18th， Chongqing Friendship Association with Foreign Countries and Chongqing Federation of Industry and Commerce （Chongqing Chamber of Industry and Commerce） mobilized member companies in Chongqing to donate 400，000 masks to Nepal in support of its COVID-19 containment.

In the face of this common enemy of coronavirus， Dazu District Federation of Industry and Commerce， Chongqing Three Gorges Private Enterprise Commerce Chamber， Dazu District Chamber of Logistics Companies， and over 10 private companies sourced 400，000 masks in a short period of time to aid Nepal to speed up the control of COVID-19. This is also a contribution to the recovery and cooperation of the business communities in China and Nepal.

重慶向尼泊尔捐赠40万只口罩

2月18日，重庆市人民对外友好协会和重庆市工商业联合会（重庆市总商会）组织重庆市有关商会企业，向尼泊尔捐赠40万只医用口罩，支援其防疫工作。

面对新冠肺炎疫情这一人类共同的敌人，大足区工商联、重庆三峡民营企业商会、大足区物流商会和10多家民营企业，紧急筹集40万只口罩，助力尼泊尔早日走出疫情阴霾，为中尼两国工商业复苏合作贡献积极力量。
