一、with有“与……一起，和”的意思。如：

The old man lives with his son. 那位老人與他儿子住一起。

I often play football with my friends. 我经常和我的朋友踢足球。

二、with可以表示“用（某种工具或手段）”。如：

The little girl eats dinner with a spoon. 那个小女孩用勺子吃饭。

She draws pictures with a pencil. 她用铅笔画画。

三、with有“带着，具有……”的意思。如：

The girl with long hair is my classmate. 那个长头发女孩是我同学。

I live in a house with a nice garden. 我住在一个带有漂亮花园的房子里。

四、with还可以表示“在……身边，在……身上”。如：
