《亚马逊的节奏》 巴西 Amazonia Groove, Brazil

On October 24, 2021, the premiere of the 8th Chongqing Youth Film Festival (CQYFF) was held in Chongqing. Jointly planned by Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the organizers of the film festival, this years CQYFF first launched “The Quintessence of Latin America” feature screening unit, including 9 excellent films from four countries, namely Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia, showcased the national characteristics, narrative context and unique and rich film aesthetics in Latin American films, invited Chongqing audiences on a journey to explore Latin American films. The film art and film industry serve as the media to promote the people of all countries to bond.
Four diplomats from Latin American countries in China attended the premiere, delivered speeches and introduced relevant films to the festival successively. They all believed that as a very representative film festival, through the collision of film art and culture, Chongqing Youth Film Festival can further consolidate cooperation and friendship, and promote the development of bilateral relations.
Founded in 2014, Chongqing Youth Film Exhibition has shown nearly 800 films at home and abroad, organized over 600 offline activities, successively linked 110-plus universities around the world and established in-depth contacts with embassies, consulates, and cultural institutions in more than 30 countries and regions. It has gradually become one of the largest specialized film festivals in the western region.
Larrisa Costa, head of the Cultural Section of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in China:
2019 Brazilian Film Festival, Chongqing has won wide praise from audiences. We have carefully selected four Brazilian films in this film festival, and I believe that they can shorten the distance between the Chinese and Brazilian people again.
Melisa Murcia Pabón, second secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Colombia in China:
In August of this year, Medellin, Colombia has signed a MOU on Establishing Sister City Relations with Chongqing, promoting the establishment of cooperation between the two places in the political, economic and trade fields. The film festival will further deepen exchanges and cooperation in the cultural field between the two places.
Tania Lara, head of Cultural and Press Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in China:
This film festival will present unique Mexican landscape, folk art, and rural life in an all-round way, so as to promote more cultural exchanges between Mexico and the vibrant city of Chongqing.
Mercedes Aguiar, first secretary of the Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in China:
Since the establishment of the strategic partnership between Uruguay and China in 2016, bilateral relations have been continuously strengthened. There is still broad space for further exploration and in-depth exchanges between China and Ukraine in the cultural fields such as film, painting, sculpture, dance, and music in the future.
Crossing the state of Pará in the Amazon region, the film showcases the artistic pulse and musical tradition of a little-known region, and focuses the vision of Brazil and the world on a traditional culture that nurtures rich musical rhythm. In Amazon, music is endless regardless of genre.
The film tells the story of a scientist returning to the Chiribiquete Mountains. The sudden storm caused the forced landing of a passionate scientist in the Chiribiquete Mountains. 30 years later, the scientist led the expedition back to this excellent archaeological and biological research site in the Amazon to enjoy the oldest geological structure on earth - sandstone plateau Tepuis, as well as the rock murals painted on it.
The film tells a fantastic story triggered by the mythical desire of Diego, a Mexican rural boy. In the course of day and night, Diego's dream came true. On the eve of his birthday, his godfather gave him a rocking horse. That night, he dreamed that he was riding a horse, and a water god bumped into him and told him the exact location of the water source urgently needed by his family.
The leading role of the film is a Jewish bachelor who owns a sock factory. When his estranged younger brother decided to visit for their mother's mother's burial, he asked his employee Marta to pose as his wife. The resulting encounter creates clumsy silences that are uncomfortably comic.
