教材及课时:鲁教版八年级上册Unit 5 Section B 第二课时
教材分析:鲁教版八年级上册共分八个单元。本单元介绍世界之最、谈论地理及自然;语用知识方面,学生需学会使用比较级和最高级。本课型为阅读课,主要谈论濒危动物——熊猫。文章从熊猫的生存环境切入,进一步描述熊猫的饲养员,又过渡到熊猫的生存现状和人类保护熊猫而采取的举措。通过层层递进,引导学生学会珍惜和爱护动物。
学生分析:
处于八年级上学期的学生科目多、压力大,少有时间去关注身边动物的生存现状。随着学龄增长,英语学习难度逐渐上升,学生依然保持较高的学习激情。
教学目标:
1.学用Scanning(寻读法)方法有目的的进行篇章快速阅读;
2.学会使用介绍熊猫动作、动物生存现状以及人类采取的相关措施的词汇:bamboo, endangered, research, keeper, awake, excitement, walk into, fall over, or so, illness, wild, government.
3.本节课以国宝大熊猫为切入点,将熊猫保护的话题引入课堂。通过阅读,学生意识到濒危动物的生存环境不容乐观,应携手为给其创造更好的生存环境而努力。
重难点:掌握寻读技巧,并能用文章词汇描述大熊猫,学会用构建思维导图。
教学方式:问答式;讲授式;问题探讨式;视频展示式
教学过程设计:
Step 1 Leading in 导入环节
The teacher shows a picture of bamboo and ask the students: Whats this? Who eats it? Today we are going to talk about this animal. Please watch a video first.
【设计意图】充分利用导入环节,采用快捷的方式进入到本节课的主题:熊猫。通过小视频热身,调动学生积极性。
Step 2 Panda Adoption(领养) Day“熊猫领养日”游戏贯穿课堂
1. Work in groups and answer teachers' questions to get cards.
2. If the group gets the most cards, it will get the toy panda.
【设计意图】将整节课程游戏化,提升学生上课回答问题的积极性,保证多数同学能够开口练习。采用寓教于乐的方式,游戏贯穿整个课堂。
Step 3 Warm-up
Present several words about pandas and make sentences.
【设计意图】游戏热身环节,让学生看到得到奖励券是很容易的事情,提高兴趣。
Step 4 Fast reading
Present a picture of the book and four phrases, and ask students to match the main ideas of each paragraph. Then lead the students to find out that there are two main parts of the passage.
【设计意图】通过篇章和短语对应的形式让学生找出每段的段落大意,有助于降低总结段落大意的难度,同时能够快速掌握全文结构和主要内容。
Step 5 Careful reading-first paragraph
Show students four pictures of paragraph 1 and ask students to read the passage carefully and match four pictures. Teacher shows the main phrases on the screen. Show the pictures of three actions: run over with excitement; walk into friends, fall over. Then make a conclusion: their life is happy.
【設计意图】阅读第一段,并将四张图片进行排序。通过排序,了解本段主要内容。再次精读四个句子,摘取出其中重要信息,并将动作性词汇单独拿出,通过动图的形式帮助学生理解,总结出熊猫的生活很开心。
Step 6 Careful reading-second paragraph
Present three questions and let students read paragraph 2 carefully, answer the questions: Who is Lin Wei? What does he do every day? Are pandas important in China and why?
【设计意图】精细阅读第二段回答问题,将重点放在第三个问题:熊猫在中国很重要,成为了中国的象征。通过国内外领导人和大熊猫的合影来讲解为何说大熊猫是中国的象征。
Step 7 Careful reading-third paragraph
Read and answer two questions: How many pandas are there now? Why is the number so small?
【设计意图】细读第三段回答问题。从课文中other human activities深入解读,还有哪些人类行为导致动物灭绝,通过图片的形式展现污染环境、乱扔垃圾等行为。引导学生深思,还有哪些动物正濒临灭绝?引导学生意识到:人类必须改变。
Step 8 Careful reading-fourth paragraph
So what can people do to help save the animals especially pandas? Please read the fourth paragraph and answer: Who are the people? What did they do?
【设计意图】细读第四段,了解人类都做了哪些努力去帮助动物。回答两个问题:行为主体有哪些?他们分别做了什么?通过行为主体展示和填写表格,继续引导学生深思:那么作为学生我们能够做些什么呢?
Step 9 Post reading: what can students do to save the pandas?
1. 4 students in a pair; 2.Talk about pandas problems and how to protect them.
【设计意图】经过文章阅读,学生深有保护动物的感触。作为学生,我们能够做些什么?让学生进行思考、讨论,为帮助学生更好的输出,在屏幕上呈现帮助性的词汇和短语。让学生上台做对话进行展示,对表现优秀的小组分发奖励票进行鼓励。
Step 10 情感目标和课堂小结
【设计意图】情感升华环节,再次强调熊猫的重要性,并将重要单词板书。然后向学生展示由PROTECT组成的藏头诗。通过呈现不同动物的动图,让学生进一步认识到动物在我们大自然的重要性和不可替代性,从而引出情感線:Loving the animals is to love ourselves.
