Yao Ming is a famous basketball player inNBA. He was born in Shanghai on September 12th ,1980, and his favourite city is Shanghai. He once lived inHouston, USA, because he played forHouston Rocketsat that time. Now he lives in Shanghai.

姚明是美国职业篮球联赛(NBA)著名的篮球运动员。他1980年9 月12 日出生在上海，他最喜欢的城市是上海。他曾经住在美国休斯顿，因为那时他效力于休斯顿火箭队。现在他住在上海。

When Yao Ming was a boy, he liked to play basketball.Actually, he enjoyed playing basketball. At that time, he played basketball several hours every day. And hemadegreaterprogress.Then, he started playing basketball for theShanghai Sharksas ateenager, and played on theirseniorteam for five years in the China Basketball Association(CBA), winning achampionshipin hisfinalyear.

姚明小时候喜欢打篮球。实际上，他享受打篮球。那时，他每天打几个小时的篮球。他取得了更大的进步。后来，十几岁的时候，他进入上海东方大鲨鱼青年队打篮球，后进入他们的高级别球队在中国男子篮球职业联赛（CBA）打了五年，在姚明效力大鲨鱼队的最后一年，赢得了冠军赛。

Yao Ming entered the 2002 NBADraftand wasselectedby the Huston Rockets as the first overall pick of the draft. Soon he became aprofessionalbasketball player who played for the Huston Rockets of the NBA. And he was the tallest player in the NBA, at 2.29m.
