Yung’s Approach to the Historic-Psychological Analysis of Inter-civillizational Conflicts

What is the psychological mechanism of the radical behavior towards the public affairs？ Carl Jung’s analytical psychology can be an approach to this problem. We tested 268 people on their cognitive， emotional and behavioral reflex on suicide components expression and terrorism ideology acceptance. The results shows that， based on psychoanalytical dipole model， “mine/alien’s” archetype’s polarization factors impacts the shahidism behavior.

Annotation

The thymolitet concept-preference for emotiolal-power global problems solving is entered. From these positions there is no exception for either governments， struggling against the citizens， or for separatists； all are thymolitaric in an equal measure， if they are not capable to find the constructive decisions. 268 people took part in the research. In separatism propaganda conditions the experimental proofs of hostility to the feudal center and shahidism （“terrorism in an embrio”） ideas acceptance occurrence in youth are received. It is shown that thymolitaric character of separate subjects， their terrorist acts readiness in their connection with psychoanalytical properties is not described by a simple linear chain “reason-consequence”， and carries polycausal character.

Actuality

The historic-psychological researches acquire special value in the epoch of inter-civilization conflicts. In this connection it is logical to enter the thymolitet concept （Aminev G.， 2000，） thymos-spirit， soul-emotional-power preference of global problems decision. This approach develops the L.N. Gumileva’s passionar concept， it is close to the civilization types theory and lays in social psychophysiology channel. From these positions there are no exception for either governments， struggling against the citizens， or for separatists； all in an equal measure thymolitarics， if were not capable of finding creative decisions.

National regions， where all the people are staying in the field of sole sovereignty propaganda， give unique research opportunities， but what are the mechanisms of increased sensitivity to such propaganda’s influence？ Why one individuals （even out of so-called “titled nation”） keep loyalty to “aliens”， do not aspire to national privileges， and others easily give in to national exclusiveness propaganda， down to acceptance of shahidism ideas. There is a hypothesis， that it can be connected to a complex of psychoanalytical factors： archetype “mine/alien’s”hyperpolarization.

Technique

268 people took part in the research. With the original techniques aim （Aminev G.A.，） the cognitive， emotional and behavioral suicide components expression and their total factor were estimated， and also the propensity to terrorism and shahidism （kamikaze） ideology acceptance. Further from positions of psychoanalytical dipole model， “mine/alien’s” archetype’s polarization factors on positive and negative qualities， their asymmetry factor and integrated polarization factor were counted. The statistical processing included regressional and correlation-factor analysis procedures. In view of correlation analysis criticism， the determination factors d = 100 r2 was counted.

Results

In separatism propaganda conditions the experimental proofs of hostility to the feudal center and shahidism（“terrorism in an embryo”） ideas acceptance occurrence in youth and readiness to go on terrorist acts even by the price of life are received. Thus the term “shahidism” can be used conditionally， as the “kamikaze” effect is revealed not only in so-called “titled” nation. The orientation of statistically significant correlation connections carried antiviral character. So archetype polarization’s factor on negative qualities has received negative correlation with terrorism and shahidism scales （r = 0.10； P < 0.05； d = 1%）， in other words if an individual does not mark prevalence of “bad” in “alien’s” group compared with “mine”， than it testifies about more intolerant attitude to socium as a whole. General percent of statistically significant correlation has made 25 % here， that specifies of their reliability on u-criterion （u=2.62； P=0.01）.

At the same time the archetype asymmetry positively correlate with emotional suicide component （r=0.13； P< 0.05）， i.e. if a person’s ratings of “mine” and “alien’s” part on positive and negative qualities， than it reflects emotional instability， down to melancholy with suicide ideas.

In our researches general correlation dynamic on terrorism and suicide propensity with “mine/alien’s”archetype features had similar structures in female， and male’s groups. This result does not contradict the information reports： terrorist acts in Russia from the part of irreconcilable supporters of the self-proclaimed republic “Ichkeria” is basically carried out by young women， and on Israel’s territory from the part of Palestinian autonomy-by men.

Conclusion

1. Thymolitaric character of separate subjects， their readiness to terrorist acts in their connection with psychoanalytical properties is not described by a simple linear chain “reason-consequence” （implication）， and further carry polycausal character.

2. High hyperpolarization of Yung’s collective unconscious archetype “mine/alien’s”， is not being the main reason of antifederal individual installations， incompromicity in relations with “federals”， separate persons propensity to terrorism. Here statistically significant connection did not exceed 1% of determination level.

3. The base hypothesis of the given report， that the terrorism propensity is connected with “mine/alien’s”archetype hyperpolarization， has proved to be true. At the same time this connection had an opposite sign and， hence， the paradoxical conclusion arises， that high “mine/alien’s” archetype polarization on a negative component， on the contrary， provides the reduction of thymolitaric pressure， it is possible on sublimation mechanism. And， on the other hand， washed out “mine/alien’s” borders， reflects the intolerance to socium as a whole and readiness for severe actions， including terrorism.

4. The factors of propensity to thymolitaric decision hide not only in archetypes， but in other sides of complex psychoanalytical and cognitive person’s world， “replacement” mechanisms’ immaturity， rancor， when insults are kept in subconscious memory for a long time （Аminev E.G.， 2003）； psychoanalytical development fixing at sadomasochism stage； suggestogenia or over-suggestibility （Аminev G.A.，）； deficiency of memory and cognitive control in aspects of forehead parts and intelligence insufficient development （Aminev E.G.）.
