November 16, 2021: The Shenyang Palace Museum in northeastern Chinas Liaoning Province celebrates its 95th anniversary.

The Shenyang Palace Museum, where the former imperial complex of three emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) was located, was founded in 1926 and opened to the public in 1929. In 2004, it was added to the World Heritage List. The museum has witnessed a thriving cultural and creative industry. The total revenue from sales of cultural and creative products in the museum surpassed 1.25 million yuan (about US$195,500) during the Labor Day holiday in May this year alone. VCG

During the championships, Houston also commemorated the 50th anniversary of Ping Pong Diplomacy. November 25, 2021: A staffer dressed in a Sichuan Opera costume greets passengers beside a bullet train painted with images of local cultural elements at Chengdu East Railway Station in Chengdu City, capital of southwestern Chinas Sichuan Province.

A bullet train painted with a Bashu culture-themed design officially began operation on November 25 in Chengdu. Bashu refers to an area that mainly covers todays Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality. The train is decorated with images of cultural elements such as giant pandas, Sichuan Opera facial makeup, the sun god bird, and Sanxingdui masks. IC

November 17, 2021: People view a large flock of black-headed gulls at Cuihu Lake in Kunming, capital city of southwestern Chinas Yunnan Province.

The gulls have spent their winters in Kunming for 37 consecutive years since first being spotted in the city in 1985. Last winter, an estimated 41,000 blackheaded gulls nested in the city. To ensure the birds are well-protected, rangers have been arranged to feed them and observe their activities. IC

November 19, 2021: The play Story of Effendi is performed at the Effendi-themed amusement park, a newly opened attraction for shopping, dining, and leisure at the International Grand Bazaar in Urumqi, capital city of northwestern Chinas Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The park also features intangible cultural and creative products from Xinjiang, a region with rich cultural heritages. The region has 83 items on the national representative list of intangible cultural heritage and 294 items on the autonomous-region list as well as 112 state-level representative trustees and 403 autonomous-region representative trustees of its intangible cultural heritage, according to the white paper titled Cultural Protection and Development in Xinjiang. November 28, 2021: Remarkable and Graceful: Special Exhibition of Dazu Rock Carvings at the National Museum of China features many masterpieces of this unique art form.

Around the third century, the grotto art originating from ancient India was introduced to China along ancient trade routes. Having absorbed and integrated the essence of early grotto art, the Dazu Rock Carvings are known for their distinctive characteristics drawing inspirations from everyday life. In 1999, the Dazu Rock Carvings were inscribed in UNESCOs World Heritage List as a cultural heritage site, reaching a final peak in the history of human grotto art. IC
