I was always nervous when faced with a large audience and even began to withdraw from audience. So all the three years in my junior high school, I was just an invisible coward. Luckily, that changed when I met June, my English teacher in senior high.
June is a young beautiful gentle lady. Her class is unique, different from any other English class I had. We have individual presentation, group discussion, inter-group competition, and class exploration in her class, where I never feel dull and sleepy. At first, I didn't dare to express my opinion in group work, let alone present myself in front of the whole class. It was her tender smile and encouraging words that helped me build up my confidence little by little. When I forget my words, she will always give me hints patiently. When I feel down, absent-minded and helpless, she will always come around to show that she cares. Given so many chances to stand in front of my classmates, I am not afraid of giving speeches in public now, and neither is anyone in our class. She is always motivating and believing in us all, thus bringing out the best of us.
Not only does she inspire confidence, but she imparts knowledge and wisdom. She works hard and teaches English professionally, effectively and efficiently. Although we spend much time discussing challenging problems, presenting our individual or group work and practicing oral expression, June always sets a time limit to every task we are assigned, which leaves us much time to assess our tasks, meditate on our performance, and reflect upon our learning strategies.
Thanks to June, I am a confident, optimistic and diligent person now. She teaches me knowledge, shows me to work hard, arouses my interest in English and sparks my passion for life, which makes me shine now and allow me to shine brighter in the future.
