Urban Public Transportation Space Design

【Abstract】Jinan Railway Station,which was built in the early 20th century,turned into a piece of history after 80 years of turbulent wind and rain. In recent years,there has been continuous discussion on whether to "goodbye" or "rebuild" the old Jinan Railway Station. Combining the historical memory of Jinan's old railway station,the existing railway station will be built to meet the needs of modern functions and humanized experience.

1.Architectural characteristics of Jinan old railway station

Jinan Old Railway Station is located on the north side of Jingyi Road in Jinan City. It faces south and runs east-west. It was designed by German architect Hermann Fischer. Jinan Old Railway Station(Figure 1)is a Gothic architectural complex,and some experts believe that it is in Germanic style.The bell tower,building exterior,high arched doors and windows,and hand-carved lace walls exude the European Baroque style everywhere,conveying an ancient and heavy feeling,which is obviously different from the modern style Jinan Railway Station(Figure 2).For the old Jinan people,the architecture carries their memories even more,recording the vicissitudes of the more than 80 years of unforgettable time.

Li Ming,director of the Jinan Institute of Archaeology,believes that it is no longer possible to make an "original" architecture. "But reconstruction is not meaningless. The greatest significance of reconstruction is to warn future generations. We have treated our history with a wrong attitude. This is our shameful monument."

2.Humanized design of Jinan Xian Station

As a window to the outside world and a hub of urban transportation,railway passenger stations are closely related to the life and travel of ordinary people. This time,we will analyze the problem from the human aspect,explore the problems that have occurred,explore the methods to solve the problems,and use the design method to show the design results.

The National Railway Administration issued the "Code for the Design of Railway Passenger Stations" and came into effect on September 1,2018.Comprehensively enhance the demand for railway passenger transport services,Combined with the requirements of building a modern comprehensive transportation hub and "zero distance" transfers,Optimize the functional layout of railway passenger stations to make the design of railway passenger stations more in line with the requirements of safety,reliability,convenience,comfort,and economy.The new standard integrates the main content of the "Code for Barrier-Free Design of Railway Passenger Stations".

3.Design analysis of Jinan Railway Station

Jinan Railway Station follows the principles of quickness,convenience,elegance and comfort,highlights humane care,and constantly improves service facilities and software services,striving to meet the different needs of users.

3.1Reasonable planning,memory is integrated in the reconstruction and construction of the new city

The Jinan Railway Station North Square Project is called the "Integrated Engineering Construction Project of the North Station of the Railway Station". The project mainly includes the north square above the ground,the Jinan Railway Station North Station Building(including passages),and underground space(including parking lots,commercial facilities,etc.).At present,the above-ground plaza of the north square of Jinan Railway Station has been completed and opened to the public. The plaza has three floors of underground space and is still being finalized.

3.2Pay equal attention to development and protection,with outstanding functionality

As an important node of the city's gateway and an important external transportation hub,Jinan Railway Station assumes the function of connecting the city inside and outside,and reasonable transportation planning is very important.

The measures to relieve the surrounding traffic environment are as follows:1. Road network adjustment and optimization. Due to the complex functions of various traffic flows in the vicinity of the railway station,the density of the road network is increased,especially the density of secondary trunk roads and branches,so as to improve and improve. The internal road network in the area realizes unobstructed circulation;2. Planning and design of intersections,strengthening the traffic capacity of the traffic road network,and improving the traffic capacity of the intersection by re-dividing traffic zoning and signal light timing cross-section transformation measures to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the urban railway station area;3. Reasonable layout of parking lots,dense traffic flow in the area around the railway station,reasonable size of parking space,reasonable use of multiple parking methods above and below ground and the number and direction of entrances and exits,and rationally coordinate vehicle travel.
