In the world of traditional Chinese furniture， some items seem useless， but in fact they serve the residences with significant functions. Taking the screen as an example， in the modern world， the screen is not practical， because it cannot be used as seat， bed， or other furniture； however in ancient China， the screen served as an inseparable part of life.

中式家具界，有一些看似無用、实则用处非常大的物件，譬如屏风。在现代社会，这种不能坐、不能躺、不能用的家具，实用性几乎为零；但在古代，屏风却是人们生活中必不可少的家具之一。
