1. —How does Mary get to school？

玛丽怎么去学校？

—She takes the subway.

她乘坐地铁。

（1）How do/does sb get （to）...？是用来询问对方或他人如何到达某地的常用句型。

其常用回答有如下几种：

Sb walk（s） to school/Sb get（s） to school on foot.

某人步行去学校。

Sb ride（s） a bike to school/Sb get（s） to school by bike.

某人骑自行车去学校。

（2）get to意为“到达”，get为不及物动词，若加宾语，后面需接介词to。

注意：get后接home，here，there，downstairs，upstairs等副词时，其后不加to。

I usually get home at six thirty every evening.

我通常每天晚上六点半到家。

（3）take  v.  意为“乘坐;搭乘”，后接表示交通工具的名词。

take the bus  乘公共汽车 take the boat  乘船

take the subway  乘地鐵

表示乘坐交通工具的几种表达方式：

（1）take + a/the + 交通工具

take a/the bus  乘公共汽车

（2）in/on + a/the + 交通工具

in/on a train  乘火车

（3）by + 交通工具

by bus/taxi  乘公共汽车/出租车

注意：步行  on foot

by sea = by ship  乘船 by rail = by train  乘火车

by air = by plane  乘飞机

hundred  num.  一百

“数词 + hundred + 名词复数”意为“几百……”

“hundreds of + 名词复数”意为“成百上千的……”

She has five hundred books.

她有500本书。

There are hundreds of people on the square.

广场上有成百上千的人。

thousand（千），million（百万），billion（十亿）与hundred的用法一样。

3. —How far is it from your home to school？

从你家到学校有多远？

—Im not sure... about 10 kilometers？

我不确定……大约10千米？

how far意为“多远”，用来询问距离，指路程的远近。

How far is it from the hospital to the bank？

从医院到银行有多远？

如何回答how far的提问：

（1）有具体的数字时，应与away from连用，口语away可省略;

（2）没有具体数字时，应用far或near作答;

（3）也可以用“时间 + walk/ride/drive”回答。

—How far is your home from your school？

你家离学校有多远？

—Its about three kilometers （away） from my school.

我家离学校大约3千米。

—Its not very far.

不是很远。

—Its about 25 minutes walk/a 25-minute walk.

步行大约25分钟。

注意：far不与具体的时间相连。

4. —How long does it take you to get to school？

你到学校花多长时间？

—About 15 minutes by bike.

骑自行车大约15分钟。

（1）how long意为“多久，多长时间”，用以询问某个动作所持续的时间，谓语动词应为持续性动词，答语多为表示一段时间的名词短语。

—How long will you stay there？

你要在那待多久？

—About a week.

大约一周。

（2）It takes sb some time to do sth为固定句型，意为“做某事需要花费某人多长时间”。take在此句型中意为“花费”，it是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的不定式to do sth。如：

It takes me about an hour to do my homework every day.

我每天大约花一个小时做家庭作业。

how引导的一般现在时的特殊疑问句

在一般现在时的特殊疑问句中，可用how来提问交通方式;用how long提问时间的长短，即时间段;用how far提问距离。

（1）how用来提问交通方式：

—How do you go to work every day？

你每天怎样去上班？

—I take a bus to work. （= I go to work by bus.）

我乘公共汽車去上班。

（2）how long用来提问时间的长短，意为“多长时间”。

How long does it take you to walk to school？

你走路去学校要花多长时间？

（3）how far用来提问距离，意为“多远”。其回答可以用长度单位或时间表示。

—How far is it from your home to the shop？

从你家到商店有多远？

—Its two kilometers. （ = Its 10 minutes ride. / It takes

10 minutes to get there by bike.）

两千米。（骑自行车10分钟。）
