工科类本科毕业论文摘要汉译英问题浅析

摘要：毕业论文摘要汉译英是本科生英文写作的一次实践检验，为将来研究生阶段英文论文写作打下基础。工科类毕业生英语基础较弱，摘要汉译英存在诸多问题。笔者分析了近两年毕业论文摘要汉译英中出现的一些普遍问题，为摘要汉译英质量改进提供参考。

引言

摘要就是对文章主要内容的摘录，摘要可以方便论文检索，能让读者快速了解论文的主要内容。毕业论文摘要反映了毕业论文研究的主要内容，是对毕业论文的概括和提炼，毕业论文摘要一般有中文摘要和英文摘要。英文摘要可以加强国际学术交流，促进科技进步[1-6]。但是，由于本科毕业生对英文摘要写作并不重视，导致中文摘要翻译为英文摘要过程很随意。英文摘要错误随处可见。

1、逐字逐句直译，不符合英语语言习惯

例1：本系统实现了考试过程由人工操作转向计算机操作过程，减轻了老师和学生的负担及压力。

原译：This system realizes the examination process from the manual operation to the computer operation process， reduces the teacher and the students burden and the pressure.

由于中文摘要中的语句拖沓冗长，不精炼，直译后译文中出现两个process，第二个process可以省略;后半句“减轻了老师和学生的负担及压力”完全按照中文的顺序在翻译，负担和压力并不属于老师和学生拥有的，不宜用the teacher and the students这种形式。中文摘要语句本身不通顺，建议改为“本系统实现了考试过程由人工操作向计算机操作的转变，减轻了老师和学生的负担及压力。”

建议译文：The system realizes the transformation from manual operation to computer operation， and reduces the burden and pressure on teachers and students.

2、专业术语翻译不规范

例2：本文以现有的计算机博弈理论为基础，将α-β搜索算法、极大极小算法、博弈树应用于六子棋系统中，采用C++开发六子棋系统程序。

原译：Based on the existing computer game theory， this paper applies the α-β search algorithm and the maximal minimum algorithm to the six-game system to develop the six-game program in C++.

专业词汇一般都有规范的译法，不能随意更改。原译文中“极大极小算法”the maximal minimum algorithm 应译为the minimax algorithm，“六子棋”six-game应译为connect-6 game

建议译文：Based on the existing computer game theory， this paper applies the α–β search algorithm， the minimax algorithm and the game tree to the connect-6 game system， and develop the connect-6 game system program with C + + .

3、单词词性误用

例3：学生请假管理系统主要包含6个模块：用户登录，学生请假及销假，老师审批，请假信息查看， 密码修改，系统管理。

原译：The student leave management system mainly includes six modules： user login， student leave and sales leave， teacher approval， leave information viewing， password modification， system manage.

译文中“系统管理”应和前面的词性一致，都用名词形式，但译文中却误译为system manage 动词词性，另外“销假”sales leave将“销”翻译为“销售”中的“销”，应译为resumption from leave。

建议译文：Student leave management system mainly includes 6 modules： user login， student leave and resumption from leave， teacher approval， leave information viewing， password modification， system management.

4、译文信息丢失，中英文不一致

例4：本系统围绕知识库的核心功能，通过开源框架spring，设计一套知识库管理系统，该系统具備基本的人员注册登录、人员数据的增删查改管功能。

原译：This system revolves around the core function of the knowledge base， through the open source framework spring， design a set of knowledge base management system， the system has the basic personnel registration login， personnel data deletion and delete change tube function.

中文摘要中“增删查改管功能”要翻译成正确的英文需要将中文意思理清楚，一共有5个功能，原译中只有“数据删除”personnel data deletion，漏掉了另外4个功能，将“管理功能”误译为“tube”。

建议译文：Based on the core functions of the knowledge base， this system designs a set of knowledge base management system through the open-source framework spring. The system has the basic functions of personnel registration and login， personnel data addition， deletion， query， modification and management.

总结  本文指出了工科类本科毕业论文摘要汉译英存在的一些普遍问题，收集其中一些常见的错误类型并提出修改思路。
