NPPQIC Obtained the Expanded Qualification Recognition by China Metrology Accreditation

Recently the National Petroleum Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (NPPQIC) affiliated to the SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing(RIPP) has been approved by the China National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA)and has obtained the expanded qualification recognition of China Metrology Accreditation (CMA).

The newly increased test items approved by CMA mainly cover the qualification on testing soil, water, and hydrogen sources. After expansion of test items, more than 200 items of testing methods are available at NPPQIC to form a comprehensive testing platform with physical and chemical analysis, bench test, soil and water and hydrogen source testing capabilities. Furthermore, the hydrogen source detection capability includes all items of laboratory analysis for hydrogen quality control suited to the proton exchange membrane fuel cell vehicles, symbolizing SINOPEC’s leading position in completing the CMA certification of hydrogen quality control project for hydrogen fuel cell industry in China, which can provide a basic guarantee for hydrogen energy quality control.

In a bid to meet the challenges in the field of new energy resource study, RIPP had preliminarily established and put into operation a hydrogen quality analysis laboratory in October 2019, with the detection level of key impurity items such as total sulfur content (expressed in terms of H2S concentration) reaching 1.0×10-5μmol/mol to secure a leading level at home and abroad. After having been certified by CMA, RIPP can provide services and technical support to enterprises in the field of serial hydrogen analysis techniques, standardization of analytical methods, overall solution for hydrogen analysis related laboratory facilities and R & D activities aimed at a complete set of online analysis technologies to assure the production and supply of hydrogen for high-quality fuel cell vehicles (FCV) provided by SINOPEC.
