October 11， Chennai， India： Chinese President Xi Jinping meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the second India-China Informal Summit.

President Xi attended the second informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi in Chennai and made a state visit to Nepal from October 11 to 13， 2019.

During the meeting between the two leaders， Xi and Modi exchanged in-depth views on overarching， long-term and strategic issues of global and regional importance and agreed to enhance the development partnership between the two countries.

Nepal was the second leg of Xis two-country trip. China and Nepal agreed to upgrade their relations to a strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship with an eye on development and prosperity.

Peace， Friendship at Military World Games

October 18， Wuhan， Hubei Province： A performance is staged at the opening ceremony of the 7th International Military Sports Council （CISM） Military World Games. The opening ceremony reflected the traditional Chinese military ideology that “the essence of force is to deter violence” and the traditional Chinese pursuit of peace since ancient times.

The Military World Games， known as the “Olympic Games for the military，”is the top multi-sport event for military personnel from around the world.

During the 10-day Games， a total of 9，308 soldiers from 109 countries participated in a record 329 events in 27 sports in the host city of Wuhan.

Canton Fair Cooperation

October 23， Guangzhou， Guangdong Province： Foreign buyers browse lighting products on display at the 126th China Import and Export Fair. Also known as the Canton Fair， the 126th China Import and Export Fair kicked off on October 15 in Guangzhous Pazhou Complex， attracting more than 25，000 exhibitors and purchasers from home and abroad.

The fair has also attracted 642 foreign companies from 38 countries and regions， 367 of which are based in the 21 countries and regions along the Belt and Road， accounting for about 60 percent of total foreign participants.

Industrial household appliance clusters from countries including Turkey， Egypt， India and Pakistan were exhibited at the fair.

Conference Unveils Leading Internet Sci-tech Achievements

October 20， Wuzhen， Zhejiang Province： The ancient water town of Wuzhen at night. The 6th World Internet Conference opened in the town that day and ran through October 22. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the internet and the 25th anniversary of Chinas access to the internet.

A total of 15 cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements in the internet sector were unveiled at the conference， covering artificial intelligence， 5G， cloud computing， digital manufacturing， industrial internet and other internet-related fields.

Beijing Horticultural Expo Closes

October 9， Beijing： The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition has been closed after 162 days of operation since April 29.

Scheduled to run from April 29 to October 7， the expo attracted a total of 9.34 million tourists from home and abroad. Over 110 countries and international organizations participated in the event to showcase the latest horticulture technologies and 8，000 varieties of plants.

In the future， the expo site will be transformed into a demonstration base of ecological civilization and a destination for ecotourism and leisure and is planned to play an important role in supporting the 2022 Winter Olympics.
