“方法”不同，搭配有别

2019高考英语全国Ⅰ卷中的63题：

Modern methods________tracking polar bear populations have been employed only since the mid-1980s，and are expensive to perform consistently over a large area.”

意思是“跟踪北极熊的数量的现代方法”，按常规理解，这并不是难题，因为表示“……的”，用of。但高考结束后几天，刚好和几位学生在一起，他们的英语成绩平时都是顶呱呱的，在询问他们核对答案的时候发现有两个女生在这一题上载跟头了，竟然填上了to。看来有必要把学过的“方法”进行总结。

考綱中表示“方法”的词有way ， method， solution， approach， means， manner等。

1. way和means接of doing或to do都可以。如：

Is there any way of contacting you while youre in Africa？你在非洲期间有什么办法和你联系吗？

The students are learning new ways to communicate in writing. 学生们正在学习新的写作交流方式。

We have no means of knowing how they will react. 我们无法知道他们会作何反应。

We will use every possible means to achieve our objective. 我们将使用一切可能的手段来实现我们的目标。

2. solution和approach都接介词to。

She came up with a novel solution to the problem. 她想出了一个解决问题的新奇的办法。

Your approach to teaching differs nothing from hers. 你的教学方法同她的教学方法并无不同之处。

3. method接of或for都可以。如：

Vaccination is one of the most effective methods for preventing disease. 接种疫苗是预防疾病最有效的方法之一。

This is the best method of settling such arguments. 这是解决此类争论的最佳方法。

除了上述5种“方法 ”外，在阅读中常见的“方法”还有technique“技巧，技能”;strategy“策略”等。“方法”何其多，需要多积累，重在反复甄别，及时归纳总结方法，办法总比困难多。
