An animated giant panda named Bing Dwen Dwen and a red lantern baby named Shuey Rhon Rhon are unveiled in Beijing as the mascots for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be held in Beijing and neighboring Zhangjiakou in north Chinas Hebei Province.

Bing is the Chinese word for ice, while Dwen Dwen means robust and lively.

The red lantern choice symbolizes harvest, warmth and light, while the name Shuey Rhon Rhon means tolerance and integration.
