Mulungu and the lizard

A long time ago， the god Mulungu lived on the Earth with all the animals.There were no people.Everything was quiet.All the animals were happy.

One day， a lizard wanted to catch some fish.He put a fish trap in the river and went home.The next morning， he looked in the fish trap and he saw two very small people.They were the first people on the Earth.

He picked up the trap and took the people to Mulungu.'Mulungu， I found two small people in my fish trap， ' he said.'What shall I do with them？'

Mulungu told the lizard to open the trap.'They want to grow and have children just like all the other animals， ' he said.The lizard opened the trap and the little people went into the forest.

They grew up and had children.They learned how to make fire.They learned how to catch and kill animals for food.They burned the forest.

All the animals were scared.Some of them ran away and the lizard climbed a tree andstayed there.

Mulungu heard about the forest and the animals.He was sad that the world was not quite any more.He asked a spider to help him climb up to heaven.He did not come back toEarth again.
