Abstract：Vocabulary learning is an important part of English learning， it is the basis of English learning， but also the key to learning English. By word into a sentence， by sentence into a paragraph， by paragraph into the whole. Therefore， the study of vocabulary is particularly important， how to learn vocabulary， how to exaggerate vocabulary， we need to study and discuss， only to master the study and exaggeration of vocabulary， in order to learn English on the road to go far. This paper makes a rough study on the expansion of English vocabulary.

Introduction

Vocabulary plays an important role in learners' reading comprehension ability， writing ability and speaking ability. With the increase of vocabulary， learners' confidence and level of language use also improve. Students are required to master a very limited vocabulary， which hinders the increase of students' vocabulary and makes it difficult for learners to use the target language. For our students， we should encourage them to break through the limitation of graded words limited by word frequency method in an effective way， so as to acquire a large vocabulary and improve their English ability as much as possible. In this way， no matter what kind of exam they are facing， they will be full of confidence.

I. Method of expanding vocabulary

There are many ways to enlarge your vocabulary， whether it is reading， listening， listening， or memorizing. Here we simply display several methods. These methods will be helpful for students to learn to enlarge their vocabulary.

At present， the contents of English textbooks used by colleges and universities are very novel， with a moderate vocabulary， and many new words have appeared. This is good for students to broaden their horizons， and every class after the emergence of the words are basically included in the cet-4 and cet-6 syllabus， which is also very beneficial to students. Songs can teach you a lot about a language. So， you can always listen to great English music and follow the lyrics to learn a few more words in an exciting way. Videos with the lyrics on the screen are especially helpful.

Big words can be scary， but you should be excited to learn them and make an effort to use them if you are to broaden your English proficiency.
