A Caterpillar Wants to Fly

凯特是一只毛毛虫，她有个飞行的梦想。她请求好朋友七星瓢虫教她飞行，她们尝试了好几次，凯特还是不会飞。又累又失望的凯特睡着了，她做了一个梦，梦见自己长出了翅膀。她的梦想能成真吗？Let’s read the story.

Cater is a little green caterpillar.

She always dreams to fly.

Cater often says to herself，

“If only I could fly.”

Dot is a ladybug.

She is Cater’s friend.

“Can you teach me how to fly， Dot？” asks Cater.

“I think you need wings， Cater，” says Dot.

“But I have no wings，” Cater is sad.

“Let me think，” says Dot.

“Climb on that rock（岩石） and jump off，” suggests Dot.

Cater climbs on the rock.

“I will fly now，” says Cater.

But instead of flying， she hits（撞到） a snail.

“Sorry， Mr. Snail，” says Cater.

“Let’s try something taller， like this plant，” says Dot.

Cater climbs up the plant.

As Cater reaches the top， the leaf breaks off（折断）.

“Whee！” she calls.

“I’m flying！”

But， with a bump（凸起物） ， she hits the ground.

“Sorry， Cater，” Dot sighs.

“I don’t know how to help you fly.”

Cater is tired and disappointed（失望的） .

Cater wraps（包裹） herself in a special blanket of silk.

She goes to sleep.

In her chrysalis（蛹）， she dreams of having wings.

Her wings can open and close.

Cater wakes up.

“You’ve changed， Cater，” says Dot， smiling.

“Look in that puddle（水坑）.”

Cater looks in the water.

Her green body is gone.

Now she has large yellow-and-black wings.

“That’s great！” Cater is happy.

“Now you know how to fly，” says Dot.

And the two friends fly among flowers happily.
