On the Beach

可爱的小男孩洛比和他的爸爸妈妈在海边度假。他们漫步沙滩，仰望蓝天，远眺那无边的大海，眼前分不清天涯还是海角，全然一片蓝色的世界。洛比不禁吟诵起了那首脍炙人口的韵律小诗：The sea。

The Sea

The Sea！ The Sea！ The open Sea！

The blue，the fresh，the ever free！

Without a mark，without a bound.

I’m on the Sea！ I’m on the Sea！

With the blue above，and the blue below.

And silence where I go.

海

海啊！海啊！辽阔的海！

碧蓝，清新，永远地自由自在！

没有标志，没有境界。

我在海上！我在海上！

上有蓝蓝的天，下有蓝蓝的海.

处处都是一片宁静。

洛比：咦，那是什么呀？ Shells！ I’ll pick up them！

妈咪：洛比，这里的them是指shells，pick up是“捡起”、“拾起”的意思。如果它的宾语是一个名词，可以放在pick up之后，也可以放在pick和up之间。但如果是代词，就必须放在pick和up之间。所以，你只能这么说：

爸比：Pick them up！ 把它们捡起来！

Pick up the shells. Pick the shells up.把这些贝壳捡起来。

洛比：哦，知道啦，这些贝壳真是太漂亮了！

爸比：洛比，快看，那边还有个漂流瓶（drift bottle），去把它捡起来吧！

穿这件T恤衫！当然啦！我可以把它穿上！

洛比拿着漂流瓶，和爸爸妈妈一起找到了那个Magic shop！
