The Emperor's New Clothes

Many years ago, there was a very vain emperor.

All he cared about was clothes!

He even had a new coat for every hour of the day.

很多年前，有一个爱慕虚荣的皇帝。

他只在乎自己的着装！

甚至一天中的每个小时，他都有一套新衣服。

One day, two tricksters came. They told

everyone they were weavers.

They said that their cloth was the best in the

world, but it was invisible to stupid people!

一天，来了两个骗子。他们声称自己是裁缝。

他们说自己的布料是世界上最好的，但是愚蠢的人看不见。

The Emperor thought this was wonderful.

He would have beautiful clothes, and know

who is stupid.

So, he gave them a lot of money and said,

“Make me some clothes!”

皇帝心想这太棒了。

他可以穿上最华丽的衣服，还能知道谁是傻子。

于是，他给了骗子很多钱，并且说：“给我做衣服吧！”

Several days later, the Emperor sent his clever minister to see the clothes.

The tricksters pretended to be hard at work.

The minister saw nothing, but he didn‛t want to look stupid.

He nodded his head and said,“ They are truly beautiful.”

几天后，皇帝派他的一个聪明的大臣去看看衣服做得怎么样了。

骗子们装作努力工作的样子。

大臣什么也没看见，但他不想被认为是愚蠢的。

他点点头说：“它们真是太美了。”

After that, he went back to the Emperor.

后来手机出现了，短信出现了，QQ微信出现了，所有情绪和感受的传递变得即时可达，随时手上嘀嘀作响的我们再也没有了当初那种全靠口头交换信息约定买炸串儿，然后老地方站着等候，带着期待等着对方出现，畅快分享彼此快乐忧伤的机会了，身边同样再也没有了每天和自己约定一起撸串儿的那个人了。

He described all the wonderful patterns and colors.

After hearing such wonderful things, the Emperor himself decided to go and have a look.

之后，大臣回到了皇帝身边。

他描述着那些精美的花纹样式和缤纷的颜色。

听到如此美妙的事情之后，皇帝决定亲自去看看。

So, the Emperor went with his minister to see the clothes.

But he was afraid of seeming stupid, so he said, “Wow, they‛re truly beautiful!”

于是，皇帝和大臣去看衣服。

当然，皇帝什么也没看见。

但是他怕被认为是愚蠢的，于是说：“哇，简直太美了！”

Next day, the Emperor went out in his new clothes.

Everybody was shouting about how the

clothes were so beautiful!

Except one little boy who said, “Wait, he

hasn‛t got any clothes on!”

The Emperor went very red, and everyone

began to howl with laughter.

第二天，皇帝穿着他的新衣外出。

每个人都赞美那件“华丽”的衣服。

只有一个小男孩说：“不过，他没穿什么衣服呀！”

皇帝害羞地红了脸，每个人都哈哈大笑。
