Residents in Lhasa， capital of southwest Chinas Tibet Autonomous Region， buy decorations on January 19 in preparation for the Tibetan New Year.
The Tibetan New Year falls on the fi rst day of the fi rst month of the Tibetan calendar. This year it coincided with the Spring Festival with both falling on February 5.
