About seven years ago,we were hosting a get-together at home.I tried tomy mother.However,as I wasmoving everything closer to the table,the marble chakla(擀面杖)out of my hand,fell hard on the floor and broke into several pieces.

A few days later,as we sat down for tea,Ifelt bad and thus I brought it up again but she said, “Don'tit;what's done is done.”When asked how long she had it,shesaid, “It belonged to my mother.” Her mother,a person shetalked about!My mother didn't have anyof her mother.Her mother had passed away when mom was an infant(婴儿),and she wasby her grandmother and stepmom.

As my mom and I sipped(小口喝)tea that day,shenothing about her past.Focused on making mebetter,she just said,“Let it go.” Even now when Iabout this,tears well(涌出)up.If I was in herthere would have been anger.

As I recall this now,I feel like her so properto this sums up who she is.Someone who goes through the ups and downs in life always can focus on what's happening right instead of what went wrong.

It was around 3pm when a woman in her late 40's came to our clinic,for the doctor.I told her that he was no longerand then she showed me a piece of paper,that she came from one of the government hospitals where her mother was then treated.She said she wasby their doctor to see our consultant.Seeing heron her face,I asked her to sit and we talked.

Task 7

After I graduated from college I struggled to find work.Ieverywhere but no one was interested in hiring me.I was able to find a job in a group home fodisabled adults.It wasn't easy work.We werethe feeding,dressing and safety of our clients (客户).We had to keep them on a schedule,take them to theirjobs,and help them to control theirwhen they acted out.It was a difficult job emotionally and I really wasn'tfor it.
