One day a little boy decided to dig a hole behind his house after watching a science program.As he was working，a couple of older boys stopped by to watch.“What are you doing?”asked one of the older boys.“I want to dig a deep hole all the way through the earth!”the boy answered excitedly.The older boys began to laugh at him，telling him that it was impossible to do it.After a while，they left without saying any more words.

The little boy kept on digging and digging.Suddenly，he found some small colorful stones.He picked them up and put them into a glass box.Then he went on digging.The box was full soon.Then he talked to himself quietly and proudly，“Maybe I can't finish digging all the way through the earth，but look at what I have found in the process of digging!”

Not all dreams will come true.Maybe your job will not end up with a success.But maybe you can proudly say，“Yes，but look at what I've found along the way!There are so many wonderful things that have come into my life because I've tried to do something！”So that's why there is a famous saying that the process is more important than the results.

◆典句赏析

1.The older boys began to laugh at him，telling him that it was impossible to do it.这几个大点的男孩开始嘲笑他，告诉他那是不可能做到的。

telling him that it was impossible to do it属伴随状语。伴随状语所表达的动作或状态是伴随着句子谓语动词的动作而发生或存在。it was impossible to do it属于“It is+adj.+不定式”句型，意为“做某事是……的”。在这种句型中，常用的形容词有很多，如important、impossible、necessary、easy、difficult、polite等。

2.Not all dreams will come true.并不是所有的梦想都会实现。

本句属“部分否定”句型。当not与all、both、every加名词（every country、every day...）及其合成词（everybody、everyone、everything、everywhere）等连用时，表达的都是“部分否定”概念。

3.There are so many wonderful things that have come into my life because I've tried to do something!由于我已经尽力去做了，所以有如此多的美妙事物走进了我的生活！

本句中虽含有so...that...，但它并不是表示“如此……以至……”。本句属there be句型，things是先行词，that是关系代词，引导的从句that have come into my life属定语从句，作things的定语。
