China Acid-based Surfactant Forum 2018 Held in Changsha

On 8 ～10 August, 2018, China Amino Acid-based Surfactant Forum 2018 was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, and attended by more than 240 delegates.Mr.Wang Wanxu, the President of RIDCI,gave a welcome address.

The Forum aimed to intensify the exchange of research and development,production, application and promotion of amino acid-based surfactant in China. It was sponsored by China Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry (RIDCI) and the Management Committee of Liuyang National Economic & Technical Development Zone, and organized by the China Daily Chemical Industry Information Center, the China National Productivity Promotion Center of Surfactant and Detergent, Surfactant Committee of China Cleaning Industry Association and Changsha Puji Biotechnology Co.,Ltd. It also received strong support from companies such as Nanjing Huashi New Materials Co.,Ltd., Suzhou HOLL’S Biological Technology Co., Ltd.,Suzhou Weimei Biological Technology Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Kehongda tTechnology Co., Ltd.

A total of 9 Chinese experts and scholars in the field of amino acid-based surfactant were invited to deliver their presentation.

Amino acid-based surfactant is a natural and mild-to-skin surfactant, and constitutes a class of bio-based surfactants with excellent surface properties,wide biological activity, low potential toxicity and low environmental impact.Amino acid-based surfactants is widely used in mild and child shampoos, body washes, facial cleansing, liquid soaps,makeup removers, shower gels,cleansing milk and cream, skin care products, cleaning products and etc.Amino acid-based surfactant becomes the focus of the consumers and archived steady growth.

According to the information from the Forum, the average annual production and consumption of amino acid-based surfactants in China has reached 100,000 tons,with more than 10 manufacturing enterprises. An estimated 60,000 tons in new production capacity will be added by 2020, and the total capacity will close to 200,000 tons per year.

In the future, the growth rate of amino acid-based surfactant in China is expected to accelerate, which will play a positive role in promoting the technological progress and industrial upgrading of China’s surfactant and daily chemical industry.
