You are driving to school. You look up to see a pretty, hot air balloon.2)Whoa! You almostwent througha stop sign! In a driverless car, you can look at the balloon. The car sees the stop signwithoutyour help and stops the car. Car makers are already testing driverless cars or AVs (3)automated4)vehicles) in the U.S. and other countries. Some companies are working together on driverless technology. Google (USA) and Nissan (Japan) are making their own driverless cars.

Without water, we can not live.(表假设)没有水,我们无法生存。

She may live better without them as neighbors.(伴随)没有这些邻居,她也许会过得更愉快一些。

He played all day without playing the piano.(伴随)他玩了一整天,没有练钢琴。

John gave up his good job and looked after his mother at home.

My doctor advised me to give up smoking without delay.

English is hard to learn, but we can’t give it up.

拓展:由give构成的其他常用短语:give away 赠送;give back 归还;

give in 屈服; give off 发出;give out 分发

I’m too sleepy to watch the end of the show.(作表语)我太困倦了,没能看完演出。

She always has a sleepy expression.(作定语)她总是一副懒洋洋的表情。

The girl was so tired that she fell asleep at her desk.
