1.I’m tied up.
Be tied up这个短语可以解释为:to be very busy and unable to speak to anyone,go anywhere.
1)Mrs Moran is tied up in a meeting at the moment, but I’ll ask her to call you later.
2)I’m afraid I can’tmeet with you on Mondayat3:00.I’llbetied up allMonday afternoon.
2.Someone’s hands are full.
Someone is too busy or has too much going on to be able to do or become involved with anything else.
1)I really wish that I could babysit for you tonight, but I’m afraid my hands are full at the moment.
2)Normally I’d pass a project like this on to Dave, but his hands are quite full this month.
3.I’m up to my eyeballs in work.
这句话可以解释为:extremely busy(with something);deeply or overly involved (in something);Eyeball的意思是“眼球”,形容工作堆积如山,已经堆到眼前了,同样用来形容某人非常忙碌的状态。如:
There’s no way I can take a vacation right now.I’m up to my eyeballs in work at the moment.
4.I’m overloaded.
I’ve been working for 20 hours. I’m overloaded.
