ASEAN-China Innovation Year Launched

The launch ceremony for the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation and China-ASEAN Innovation Forum was held in Beijing on April 12. The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China,the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sent congratulatory letters for“ASEAN-China Innovation Year.” Both leaders highly praised the cooperation and exchange between China and ASEAN in fields of scientific and technological innovation and expressed deep appreciation and con fidence for future cooperation.

At the forum, representatives from governmental departments and innovation and research institutions from China and ASEAN countries conducted discussions on topics such as the role of government in building innovative cooperation platforms,technology, culture, innovation supporting policies and innovative cooperation among industries,universities and research institutes.
