Kite-flying is one of the most popular traditional（传统的） sports in China. In warm spring，kites of many colors fly up and down in the sky and the kite strings（線） give out a sound in the wind，like the “Zheng”，a traditional Chinese musical instrument（乐器）. Thats why their Chinese name is Feng-Zheng.

Traditionally，Beijing，Tianjin and Weifang（潍坊） in Shandong Province（山东省） have been well known（出名的） for their kites. The Beijing kites are made in an imperial（皇家的） style（风格），the Tianjin kites are small and exquisite（精致的），and the kites of Weifang painted in rich（丰富的） colors. The Weifang International（国际的） Kite Festival takes place（举行） in April each year.

Kites were used to drive off（驱除） bad luck（运气）. Now kite-flying has become a popular activity（活动） in China. It is great fun to fly a kite on a windy day.
