Charting a Course for Green Growth

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for high-quality economic growth through developing the Yangtze River economic belt at a symposium on promoting the development of the Yangtze River economic belt in Wuhan， capital of Hubei Province， on April 26.

He stressed the importance of enhancing reform and innovation， strategic coordination and planning and guiding development of the economic belt. He called for all-out efforts to protect the Yangtze River， stressing that there should be no large-scale development on the river.

Before the symposium， Xi inspected Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group， Chinas largest fine phosphoric chemicals maker and the largest relocated company in the Three Gorges Reservoir region. He also inspected the Three Gorges Project and the dam areas neighboring ecological environment on April 24.
