New Flight from Nanning to Siem Reap

Chinas GXairlines launched a direct flight linking Nanning, capital city of southern Chinas Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Cambodias Siem Reap on May 29.

The outbound flight number GX8905 will leave Nanning at 11:05 p.m. and arrive in Siem Reap at 12:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Saturday. The return flight will depart Siem Reap at 1:30 a.m. and arrive in Nanning at 5 a.m. every Tuesday and Saturday.

It is the airlines first international flight. Flights linking Guangxi and Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand will be launched later this year.

Cementing China-Myanmar Ties

Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi met with Myanmar President U Win Myint and State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on May 9.

In the meeting with U Win Myint, Zhao said that the proposals made by Chinese President Xi Jinping to foster a new type of international relations and build a community with a shared future for mankind open up broader prospects for the development of China-Myanmar relations.

He stressed that China attaches great importance to Sino-Myanmar relations and will make joint efforts with Myanmar to implement the important consensus made by leaders of the two sides, jointly promote the construction of the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields to continuously promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Zhao noted that the China-Myanmar cooperation in law-enforcement and security is an important factor of bilateral relations, adding that the Chinese side is willing to further strengthen security cooperation during implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative with Myanmar and deepen pragmatic cooperation against drug-related crimes, human trafficking and telemarketing scams to jointly maintain the social and economic development as well as the security and stability of both countries.

U Win Myint thanked China for its support and selfless help.

The president declared that friendship between Myanmar and China was forged on a deep foundation and expressed hope that both sides would strengthen cooperation on project construction within the framework of Chinas Belt and Road Initiative, including the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor.

Myanmar and China should also boost cooperation in the sectors of law enforcement and security to achieve more positive results and bring more benefits to the two peoples, U Win Myint said.

When meeting with Aung San Suu Kyi, Zhao said the important consensus made by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Aung San Suu Kyi last year will guide the comprehensive strategic cooperation now and in the future.

Zhao said that China is willing to implement the important consensus made by both leaders to continuously enhance law-enforcement and security cooperation to jointly maintain the security and development interests of both sides and contribute to developing the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Aung San Suu Kyi thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government for attaching so much importance to Sino-Myanmar relations and their support for the Myanmar peace process and economic and social development.

She expressed hope to further strengthen cooperation with China in various sectors such as the construction of the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor as well as law-enforcement and security to promote continuous development of Myanmar-China relations.

Earlier, Zhao also met with Myanmars Minister of Home Affairs Kyaw Swe on bilateral cooperation.
