As the global textile industry converges on Shanghai in March for five concurrent international textile fairs, the yarn and fibre sectors attention will be on hall 5.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center – the location of Yarn Expo Spring. A new record will be set with 435 exhibitors from 10-plus countries and regions – including China, Chinese Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam –featuring a full spectrum of quality and innovative yarn and fibre products.

Highlights of Yarn Expo Spring 2018

Synthetic & specialty yarns: suppliers from Chinese Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam as well as leading Chinese companies will showcase their innovative products such as fancy, metallic and stretch yarns.

Fancy yarns: an enlarged Fancy Yarn Zone features a number of wellknown domestic enterprises with the latest innovations.

Natural yarns & fibers: the India and Pakistan Zones, exhibitors from Uzbekistan and Chinese suppliers in the Natural Cotton Zone present a wide selection of high-quality cotton yarns, while the Quality Wool Zone will include domestic wool products.

Colourful Chemical Fibre and Green Linen Zones: apart from the three aforementioned domestic zones, these remaining two areas offer innovative and eco-friendly sourcing options.

Birla Planet pavilion: while the company will showcase key product lines Birla Modal and Birla Spunshades, a number of its partner companies will demonstrate the application of Birlas products.

Sateri Pavilion: the largest producer of viscose fibre in China, the pavilion will feature local mills showcasing skin-friendly hygiene options made from Sateris products.

Fringe programme: a fashion show, Trend Area and a series of seminars will reveal the latest market trends and insights.

New exhibitor highlights

HJ Lite (Korea): they produce retro reflective yarn for weaving, knitting, sewing and more. Rather than applying reflective tape on safety wear, for example, manufacturers can apply this yarn into their fabric. During the day, the reflective yarn appears as a decoration, and at night reflects light as a safety function.

Kongkiat Textile (Thailand): specialising in melange and fancy yarns, their products are 100% organic and are produced in an eco-friendly production process where nearly all waste water is reused.

PT Daliatex Kusuma (Indonesia): they will showcase MVS viscose, PV, polyester, nylon mono and mono multi filaments at the fair. The company claims their mono multifilaments are superior to others on the market due to the fact they are easier to warp.

Leading suppliers of eco-friendly synthetic & specialty yarns to feature at this Yarn Expo Spring

Birla Planet

The Birla Planet pavilion will include six exhibitors showcasing Birla Viscose, a heavy-metal-free fibre that is well suited to blending with other fibers. According to Mr Peter Dong, Marketing Director of Aditya Birla Group, “there will be fierce competition in the industry in 2018 due to total production increasing by 15-20%,” but the eco-friendly nature of their products, he believes, will maintain demand for them, especially in China.

Sateri Pavilion

Sateri is a well-known brand in China. Specializing in viscose rayon, they are the largest producer of viscose fibre in the country with three mills and an annual capacity of 550,000 tons. Following the success of their debut pavilion at the previous Yarn Expo, they return again with their members who will showcase skin-friendly hygiene products made from viscose fibre.

Yibin Grace

The companys most popular product is their Gracell? fiber, which is made from 100% pure wood pulp making it completely degradable. With high fibre strength and softness, it can be used in knitted products, woven wool fabrics, home textiles, nonwoven facial masks, and high-grade woven fabrics for jeans, trousers and shirts.

Jiangsu Guowang High-Technique Fiber

In previous editions of Yarn Expo, “many buyers were asking us if we have environmentally friendly products,” Mr. Qian Min, Director of the companys Marketing Department reported. As such, Jiangsu Guowang will showcase new products this edition including low-temperature dyed fibers and heavymetal-free fibers.
