China Textile: How do you think of the development tendencies of the industry and exhibition in 2018?
Mr. Paul Kingsen: With a population of 250 million people, the Textile and Garment Industry is presently considered as a strategic industry for the Indonesian economy. The third largest manufacturing sector, it is one of the largest employers in Indonesia. Indonesian exports of textile and textile products have already reached the value of USD$12.4 billion in 2017, exceeding the Indonesian Textile Association (API)s target of USD $11.8 billion. Robust textile demand from Southeast Asia and the Middle East was a decisive factor why the target was achieved. Indonesian textile industry has the potential to accelerate the stable growth with a better and more investor-friendly business climate.
Indo Intertex will still continue to prove to be the major platform for Indonesian textile and garment manufacturing industry as huge response from international renowned textile and garment manufacturers are eager to tap into growth opportunities in Indonesia as the country continues its strategic push for quality value added products and higher productivity with sustainable technologies in response towards Indonesias textile businesses urging the central government to reach an agreement with the European Union (EU) for the establishment of the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement that is expected to benefit from this trade deal as there exists significant demand for textiles in the EU.
China Textile: What is the key work of the organizer in the next step? What is the main target of this exhibition?
Mr. Paul Kingsen: We will still focus on Indo Intertex further growth and opportunities to be the significant leader in this industry by identifying opportunistic conferences/ concurrent events that can reach out more target audience of potential buyers. In addition by increasing the range of international product launches as the main catalyst to improve textile and garment manufacturers to keep ahead of the industry thus enhancing overall production efficiency.
