An Appeal

I met a girl recently. We really hit it off; we both thought we’d found the one to spend the rest of our lives with.
Yesterday, I showed my mom the girl’s picture. Mom looked at the picture, shaking her head.Anxiously, I said: “Ma, she’s really a great girl; she even looks a little bit like you when you were young.”
My mom looked at me gravely and said: “That’s exactly why you shouldn’t be with her. You can see from the way she looks that she’s a bully. She’ll have you doing all the housework.” I listened to what she was saying, trying to counter her arguments while eyeing for my dad’s help.
Surprisingly, my dad got up straightaway and said, “Make way, I need to mop the fl oor.”
