虚拟语气教学案例

【教学背景】

随着新课改在全国的不断推进,高中英语教学无论是在教材教纲还是在教学内容、方法以及考核模式上都进行了很大的改革。在这一背景下,出现了许多与新课改相适应的教学模式,“三段六环导学”模式就是其中之一。“三段六环导学”模式通过教学方式和学习方式的转变来提高课堂效率,培养学生的自主学习能力,进而促进学生的全面发展。

【教学内容】

英语选修六第二单元语法:虚拟语气The Subjunctive Mood(II)

【教学目标】

1.了解虚拟语气语法的基本规则。2.掌握虚拟语气的解题思路和技巧。3.能运用语法规则解决有关虚拟语气的练习。

【教学过程】

Step1. Revision & Lead-in(导入新课)

Ask students to read a classical dialogue said by Zhou Xingchi in a movie Journey to the West and find out what kind of sentence structure this passage used.

I once let the truest love slip away from before my eyes without cherishing it only to find myself regretting when it was too late. No pain in the world comes near to this. If the God were to give me another chance,I would tell the girl three words: I love her! If our love had to be set a time limit, I wish it would be 10,000 years!

Step2. Learning Aims(目标展示)

基础目标:掌握虚拟语气的以下三种常见形式。

(1)as if/as though从句虚拟语气。(2)It is(high/about)time that后从句的虚拟语气。(3)名词性从句中的虚拟语气。

能力目标:掌握虚拟语气的以下重难点。

(1)辨别混合虚拟语气。(2)培养解决相关虚拟语气问题的思路,并学会在写作中应用虚拟语气。

Step3. Self-directed study(生生互动,自主学习)

Show students some sentences and ask them to analyze each sentence and summarize the rules of the Subjective Mood.

观察并思考1:在as if /as though引导的从句中,当句意与现在、过去、将来事实相反时,从句分别用什么时态?

He looks as if he were ill.

He talks as if he had been to America before.

He opened his mouth as if he would say something.

歸纳总结:

观察并思考2:在It is(about/high)time that...句型中,当句意与现在、过去、将来事实相反时,从句使用什么时态?

It is high time that we had /should have a rest.

归纳总结:It is(high/about) time that sb did/should do...(should不可省略)

观察并思考3:完成练习,思考that引导什么从句?哪些名词性从句中要用虚拟语气?

His suggestion is that I _____ (have) a good rest.

It is demanded that we _____ (get) up early.

归纳总结:在表示坚持、命令、建议、要求的词相关的名词性从句中谓语动词用虚拟语气should do,should可以省略。

观察并思考4:翻译例句并思考that引导什么从句。

1.It is important that we (should) master a foreign language.

2.It is a great pity that he(should)be so careless.

归纳总结:在句型“It is +adj+ that...”和“It is +n+that...”中,若表达惊讶、惋惜、遗憾、理应如此等意义时,that引导的名词性从句中用虚拟语气should do, should可以省略。

Step4.Guidance& Discussion(师导生学,合作探究)

难点:什么是错综虚拟条件句?小组讨论:翻译以下虚拟条件句,并讨论从句与主句的时间是否一致?分别使用了什么时态?

If you had followed my advice yesterday, you would be able to finish the work now.(从句是对_______的虚拟,主句是对______的虚拟。)

学法指导:当if虚拟条件句与主句时间不一致时,这类句子称为错综虚拟语气,主句和从句的谓语动词根据其相应的时间而定。(“各归各”原则)

Step5.Standard evaluation & Group work(达标检测、随堂演练)

1.Ask students to finish the related exercises in groups.

2.Show time. Compete with groups.

Step6.Summary & Homework(课堂小结,布置作业)

1.Summary:What we have learned in this class?

2.Homework: Finish the error correcting on page 62 in your workbook.

【教后反思】

本节课的教学改变了传统的英语语法教学方式,以“三段六环导学”模式为抓手构建了一堂高效的语法教学课堂。学生通过自主学习、合作探究、归纳拓展的方式掌握了虚拟语气的语法项目和规则,并能灵活运用各种虚拟句式完成相关的语法练习,完成了本节课的教学任务,达到了教学目的。学生增强了自主学习的意识,为以后的学习和发展奠定了基础。
