HELPING HANDS

Soldiers help with relief work at the Macao Special Administrative Region on August 25， after typhoon Hato struck， causing death and destruction. About 1，000 troops from the Peoples Liberation Army （PLA） garrison in Macao were mobilized at the request of local government. The PLA also conducted rescue operations when a second storm， typhoon Pakhar， lashed Macao on August 27 and 28. At least eight people were reported to have been killed.endprint
