Ten years ago, the domestic carbon fiber industry was almost blank, so we needed to rely on imports of carbon fiber. In ten years, China has introduced a series of policies to accelerate the development of carbon fiber industry, improve product performance, drive technological progress, as well as promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industry, so as to meet the needs of various fields of national economy. During June 3 and June 4, 2017 National Carbon Fiber Industrial Development Conference was held in Beijing. More than 210 specialists and representatives discussed the current situation of Chinas carbon fiber and composite material, which were hot topics in the application of aviation, aerospace, rail transportation and vehicle materials.
On June 6, with the theme of “leading lightweight future”, the commissioning ceremony of Kangdexin Europe Composites R&D Center was held in Munich. As an important part of Kangdexin carbon fiber automotive lightweight ecological platform, the R&D center had the ability of design and R&D and it could also do research on parts of carbon fiber automobile and a small batch of production. It would add new power for ecological platform, and make a solid foundation for Chinas composites industry to catch up with the international advanced level. In addition, it would build an important platform for China and German to make technical exchange and cooperation in industry, capital and market, so as to boost the rapid development of automotive lightweight industry.
On June 12, media conference of the Second China Eco-environmental Fabric Design Competition was held in Beijing. The design competition will be held in Shengze this year, due to its contribution of industrial cluster in environmental protection and energy conservation. The competition not only promoted the transformation of industrial and product structure to eco-environment protection, but also boosted the establishment of a resource-saving and environment-friendly textile industrial system in Shengze, so as to make textile industry develop concepts of green development. Fan Jianlong, member of Wujian District Committee and Party Secretary of Shengze Town, indicated that the second design competition would accelerate the green development of textile industry of Shengze. Shengze will become the largest fabric sourcing base with advantages of orgin, quality, fashion and environmental protection in three to five years.
On June 13, Jiayusi Jinyong A&W New Product Release & Purchasing Meeting was held in Vienna Hotel in Xiangyang, where many dealers from Enshi, Jingzhou, Shiyan, Suizhou and surrounding areas of Xiangyang carefully selected and made orders of new products of Jiayusi. In the release, Jiayusi introduced 10 fashion new products and more than 400 flower types. During the meeting, Chen Ronglin, marketing director of Nantong Jiayusi Textile Group Co., Ltd., introduced the new features to customers. The products won the praise of customers with high quality, innovative design and preferential policies. One of customers from Enshi, said he had taken products from Jiayusi for four years, and sales were particularly good.
On 14th June, CCI joined hands with its licensees Cone Denim and Indigo Tank to launch the “Travel in Denim” collection in Guangzhou, China. The collection was designed by Chen Wen, the most influential denim designer in China to demonstrate how quality U.S. cotton fabrics provide the ideal canvas for personal expression and individuality during travel. With denim fabrics sponsored by Cone Denim, a leading American denim fabric manufacturer with 126 years history, Indigo Tank, a young and dynamic service provider for denim brands and retailers helped produce the apparel for this special collection.
A dedicated B2B panel discussion themed “Indigo Silk Road” was also held after the fashion show, which brought together COTTON USAs licensees and key players in the thriving denim industry in Hong Kong and Guangdong province to discuss the current status and prospects of the denim industry in China. Carmen Chen from Cone Denim, Vincent Qin from Denim Innovation Alliance, Gordon Wu from Vigoss, Chen Wen from Chenwen Studio, Liu Yi Qun from Wolfzone and Danny Zheng from Perfect Textile shared their insights and provided the latest update on the sustainability practices and where the denim industry is heading from different view points, including raw material supply, fabric and garment, fashion design, brand and retailer, etc...
The event attracted over 200 participants from the key denim manufacturers in the region, including COTTON USAs licensees, such as Advance Denim, Byford, Baliso, Chaoan Textile, Cone Denim, Foison, Texhong, Seazon, Prosperity, Vigoss, etc. and the representatives from Guangdong Association of Garment Industry and Guangdong Province Textile Association also attended the event.
