里约之后去哪儿看奥运？

It has just been about 9 months since the Rio Olympics concluded， but its never too early to think about where the world will be turning its attention to next. The 2018 Olympics will return to East Asia for the first time since 2008， setting in motion a string of three-straight competitions in the region. Heres a rundown of the upcoming Olympic locations and how those cities captured hosting rights for the international event.

虽然里约奥运会才仅仅落幕9个月左右，但是现在考虑全世界下一个关注点却一点都不早。自2008年以来，2018年奥运会将第一次重新回到东亚地区，在这个地区将连续有三场赛事。这里就来说说以后几届奥运会的举办城市，以及这些城市是如何获得这项国际赛事的主办权的。

2018 Winter Olympics： Pyeongchang

2018年冬奥会：平昌

Following two failed attempts to host the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics， Pyeongchang finally secured South Koreas first Winter Olympics in history. Seoul， capital of South Korea， previously hosted the Summer Games in 1988.

Pyeongchang was selected as host city in 2011， earning the nod over Munich， Germany and Annecy， France， to win the nomination. Preparations are well underway—South Korea broke ground on a high-speed train line from Seoul to Pyeongchang right before the 2012 London Olympics. The 2013 Special Olympics were hosted in the city.

With a similar name to Pyongyang—the capital of North Korea—Olympic organizers decided to brand the Games as “PyeongChang 2018” with a capital letter to further distinguish the host city.

在連续申办2010年和2014年冬奥会失败后，平昌终于让韩国在历史上第一次成功申办冬奥会。韩国首都首尔在1988年主办了夏季奥运会。

2022 Winter Olympics： Beijing

What seemed to be a sure hosting win for Oslo， Norway， took an unexpected turn back in 2014 when the city withdrew its bid because of cost concerns. A year later， Beijing emerged as the narrow victor， edging Almaty， Kazakhstan， by four votes.

The 2022 Winter Olympics—the third Olympics in a row that will be hosted in East Asia—will be the first winter edition in China. There will be three clusters for competition： Beijing， Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Travel time from Beijing to Zhangjiakou—a longer trip than to Yanqing—is estimated to take 50 minutes on a new high-speed railway that will allow trains to travel at up to 217 mph.

Beijing most recently hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics.

2020 Summer Olympics： Tokyo

Tokyo will become the fifth city to host the Summer Olympics for a second time， with a 56-year gap between 1964 and 2020. Tokyo， as the capital of Japan， was chosen over Istanbul， Turkey and Madrid， Spain in 2013.

The National Olympic Stadium， built in 1954， was demolished in 2015—originally in preparation for the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Olympics. With a delayed timetable， however， the $1-billion project has been pushed back and wont be ready until after the Rugby World Cup. The venue will seat over 60，000 people for the Games.

东京将成为第五个第二次主办夏季奥运会的城市，而2020年与1964年之间，间隔了56年之久。作为日本首都的东京，于2013年击败了土耳其的伊斯坦布尔和西班牙的马德里成为主办城市。

There are still about four months before the 2024 Olympics are awarded to a host city at the 130th International Olympic Committee Session in September 2017. The bidding process is well underway， and the finalists have been winnowed down to four.

Budapest， Hungary， has lost five bids to host the Games in its history， and it appears to be lagging behind the other three cities with greater Olympic résumé. Paris hosted the Games in 1924， Rome in 1960 and Los Angeles in 1984.

距离2017年9月第130届国际奥委会会议选出2024年奥运会的主办城市还有四个月左右的时间。竞标过程正在顺利进行中，最终入围城市已挑选为这4个城市。

2026 Winter Olympics： Undecided

Plans for the 2026 Games are still up in the air. The host city will be selected in 2019， but there are a number of early signs pointing to the possibility of a European host. Options include Austria， Germany， Italy， Sweden and Switzerland， among others.
