川剧经典剧目《金子》全剧5幕，6位人物用他们的精湛演技将观众深深吸引，沈铁梅饰演的“金子”更成了永恒的经典。她的一颦一笑、举手投足都是对川剧虚实相生的人物性格的完美刻画。而她的唱腔更是世间难得几回闻，时而高亢，响遏行云，时而低回，细腻柔美。这已超出了唱腔本身，直抵灵魂深处，仿佛将观众带到了“金子”那个特定的年代。这也是有的观众看了5遍、10遍甚至20遍都还在细细回味的魅力所在。

其实，川剧早已深受外国观众的喜爱。在世界级艺术殿堂美国林肯艺术中心、匈牙利贝凯什乔包剧院，西方观众能听懂、看懂《金子》，因为极富感染力的舞台艺术早已超出语言的界限，成为了一种充满东方艺术魅力的国际符号。而电影版《金子》的开拍，将开启这一本土文化艺术新的海外旅程。
