Innovation Highlighted at the World Robot Conference 2016
The 2016 World Robot Conference， which took place in Beijing from Oct. 21-25， attracted more than 300 top robotics experts from 11 countries. The event consisted of forums，exhibitions and robot contests，Sina News reported.
As well as robots specialized in industrial manufacturing and household services， many on-show were designed to have entertaining abilities， such as painting， dancing and playing football.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong proposed that all countries， including China，should push ahead with robotic research， innovation and the commercialization of the resulting products， Xinhua reported.
Statistics from the International Federation of Robotics show that China extended its leading position as the number one industrial robot market worldwide， with unit sales reaching 66，000 in 2015.
