Nine of the 10 Chinese sailors released after spending four and a half years in captivity as hostages of Somali pirates arrive in Guangzhou, south Chinas Guangdong Province, on October 25. The 10th sailor remains in Kenya receiving medical treatment.
The 10 sailors—nine from the mainland and one from Taiwan—were among 26 hostages released by pirates three days earlier. The others are nationals of Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Viet Nam.
The sailors were taken captive when their Omani-flagged fishing vessel, the Naham 3, was seized in March 2012 in waters south of the Seychelles.
