Peter was a small boy.He lived with his parents in a small house near some hills.The people there were all poor.

One night itwas very dry and windy.

When everybody was asleep,Peter suddenly heard some noise.It came out from the kitchen.He got up and walked to the kitchen.He found that the wood beside the stove was burning.There was no water tap in the house，so he could not put out the fire.He shouted loudly to wake up everyone in the house.Then he ran out of his house and knocked on the doors of many houses to wake the people up.They all left their houses quickly.

At last the fire was put out by the firemen.Many houses were burnt. But nobody was burnt in the fire.

聪明的皮特

在皮特还是个小男孩的时候，他和他的父母住在山中的小房子里。住在那里的人都很穷。

在一个非常干燥且刮着大风的晚上。

当每一个人都睡着后，皮特忽然听到了一些声响。那是从厨房发出的声音。他站起来走进厨房，发现火炉旁边的木头着火了。那个屋子里没有水龙头，所以他不能把火扑灭。为了叫醒屋子里睡觉的人他大声地叫了起来。然后跑到很多家去敲门，人们都很快地离开了家。

最后大火被消防队员扑灭了。很多房子都被烧毁了，但是在这场大火中没有人员伤亡。
