铁匠的儿子

1.An old blacksmith has only one son， so his wife almost spoils him. In his teens， he just knows how to eat， drink and sleep every day.老铁匠只有一个儿子。因此，夫人对儿子很娇惯。儿子十几岁了，每天还是只知道吃喝、睡觉。

2.The blacksmith gets old. He says， “From now on you should make money to raise yourself. Make a ruble， and I'll give you all my property.” 铁匠老了。他说：“今后你要自己挣钱来养活自己。你挣来一个卢布，我就把遗产都给你。”

3.Mother gives the son a ruble and tells him what to do the next day.母亲给了儿子一个卢布，并告诉他第二天怎么做。

4.The next day， the son gets out of the village， takes out the delicious food his mother prepared and begins to eat. In the evening， the son gets home， gives the money to his father and says，“Oh， I am tired， my waist is broken.” 第二天，儿子来到村外，取出母亲给带的好东西，大吃大喝。晚上，儿子回到家，将钱交给父亲说：“哎哟，腰要累断了。”

5.The blacksmith throws the money into the stove. The son says， “Believe me or not. I'll go to sleep.” 老铁匠把钱扔进炉子。儿子说：“不信就算了，我要睡觉呢。”

6.The next morning， the mother gives the son another ruble and tells him what to do. The son plays hard in the mountain for a whole day. At dusk， he runs home， bathed in sweat， and says，“I worked hard all day as an ox.” 第二天早晨，母亲又给儿子一个卢布，告诉他怎样去做。儿子痛痛快快地在山里玩了一天。傍晚，他跑到家，满脸汗水地说：“我像牛似的劳动了一天。”

7.He gives the money to the father and lies in the bed. The father looks at the money， then at the son. Father throws the money into the stove again， but the son wears no expression. Father says， “You can't cheat me.” 他把钱交给父亲，就躺到床上。父亲看看钱，又看看儿子。父亲又把钱扔进炉子，儿子没表情。父亲说：“你骗不了我！”

8.The next day， the mother wakes up the son， and says，“If you want to get the property， you should go to work indeed.”第二天，母亲叫醒儿子，说：“想得到遗产，得真去做工了。”

9.The son takes the luggage to work in the town. He sieves sands， discharges ships...Several days later， the son gets back home， takes out a handful of rubles without a word. 儿子带了行李到小镇做工，筛沙子、卸船……几天后，儿子回到家，一声不响地掏出一把钱。

10.The father catches the money， watches it， and wants to throw it into the stove again. The son rushes up， and cries， “Don't burn the money. To make the money I worked so hard.” 老人接过钱，看了又看，还要把钱扔进炉子。儿子扑上前去，哭着说：“不能把我劳动挣来的钱烧掉！”

11.Father pats the son on the shoulder， and says happily， “You will value the money you make.”父亲拍着儿子肩头，高兴地说：“自己挣的钱会爱惜的。”

12.From then on， the son seems to be another man. He learns craft from the old blacksmith and becomes a young blacksmith. 从此，儿子像变了一个人，他跟老铁匠学艺，成了小铁匠。
