A platform fi lled with love
AVietnam will be the Country of Honor of the 13th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in 2016. On this occasion, CAEXPO (Vietnam Exhibition) was successfully held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, on June 16, 2016, when a total of 166 exhibitors made their appearances, including the team involved in the creation of CAEXPO's offi cial homepage, China-ASEAN Expo,on Facebook.
The team, for the first time, conducted an online interaction activity themed “love & sharing”, receiving positive feedback from the offline exhibitors present at the Vietnam Exhibition and online netizens. This is an active practice relating to CAEXPO, thus enhancing CAEXPO's influences, increasing overseas propaganda channels, and satisfying the new demands of the Internet era.
“Now CAEXPO has been closely linked with people living in ASEAN states. The reason why “love” is identifi ed as the theme is that we hope CAEXPO can not only serve as an exhibition platform for commodities but also a gathering for love and people-to-people bonds,”said Mr. Michael Jan, Editor-in-Chief of CHINA ASEAN BUSINESS, who is also a founding member of the team.
During the Vietnam Exhibition, there are a total of 22 articles themed “love & sharing”, five pieces of news relating to the exhibition and four articles concerning the exhibitors, which were posted on the homepage of Facebook, all of which were read by over 150,000 netizens and shared by 22,609 fans. Through this activity, all the participants concerned elaborated on their thoughts and views about CAEXPO, as well as their affection.
Fascinating interaction
According to the statistics, there were 166 exhibitors attending the Vietnam Exhibition with 330 booths,in which a number of dazzling and multiple highquality commodities and service products were shown to all the travelling merchants from every walk of life;meanwhile, the information, including the introduction of exhibitors, exquisite pictures of ASEAN states and China, was posted on Facebook, of which the articles relating to various environment-friendly trolley buses and motorbikes were most favored by the netizens, and so were other products applying innovative and advanced technologies.
People now have a better understanding of the homepage of CAEXPO on Facebook through the interaction activity. As a matter of fact, not only does this platform aims to release news about CAEXPO, but also it is focused on connecting CAEXPO with the public in the region.
The official homepage of CAEXPO on Facebook had been concerned by over 20,000 fans as of July 15, 2016,only one month after its founding.
Sharing favored by Vietnamese netizens
Vietnamese netizens have been accustomed to sharing their life stories, which may be of vital significance to the complete success of this activity. The number of everyday active accounts, as revealed by the official statistics published in 2015, topped 20 million, increasing by 183% compared to 2012; moreover, their time spent on Facebook was some twice more than on TV.
It is learned that Facebook, the most important social platform in Vietnam, has occupied a large share of the Vietnamese market. To date, the penetration rate of Facebook in the Vietnamese market has reached 94%,39% higher than the second largest social software in Vietnam. Against such a backdrop, Facebook can be used as a new approach to publicizing CAEXPO overseas;the homepage of CAEXPO on Facebook, shown at the Vietnam Exhibition, can be undoubtedly regarded as a signifi cant refl ection of keeping pace with the times and continuing to make innovation.
