IED the European Institute of Design has been appointed to design MarediModas trend area, the most important trade show for beachwear and underwear fashion textile. The project will be coordinated by Mrs Francesca Tottoli and Mrs Anna Rogg, from IED BUSINESS HUB.
In the past MarediModa collaborated with the best known bureaux de tendances in the world.
A new ambitious and innovative trend forecasting formula“MAREDIMODA TREND BOARD” will be launched on the occasion of the fourteenth edition which will take place in Cannes on 3-5 November 2015.
The project involves a working team composed by WGSN, worlds leading trend forecaster, IED which represents, through its BUSINESS HUB, the international network of advanced education in Design, Fashion and Visual Communication, Mr. David Shah, a long time collaborator of MarediModa, an histrionic guru of style trends, colours and social changes as well as editor in chief of Textile VIEW, the must-have magazine for textiles.
The IED team will be made up of a group of students led by a team of professional fashion and design professors including cool hunters, graphic designers, video makers, interior designers and illustrators from IED – Milan Visual Communication, Fashion and Design school.
This cooperation will be developed at different levels: WGSN will propose for Spring/Summer 2017 four main beachwear themes and two themes for underwear. It will be up to IED Team to develop and complete these macro trends through ideas, tips and remarks.
The collateral cooperation of Mr. David Shah will help trace the sociological background which influences trends for 2017 in terms of style and color.
The project took off on 2nd April 2015 at IED – Milan throughout a press conference and a round table of all participants (WGSN – IED – DAVID SHAH) and MarediModa.
In the respect of the international and collaborative trait of IED, 4 students coming from IED school group (Rome, Turin, Venice, Como, Florence, Cagliari, San Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and Madrid) will be invited to join the Milan team in a full immersion day workshop.
Students will be selected through an assessment process by IED BUSINESS HUB, in the aim of offering IED students, located all around the world, the opportunity to experience an international professional and educating occasion.
The result of this trend forecasting cooperation will be presented in Como and Barcelona to an audience of professionals and designers belonging to MarediModas exhibitors who will develop this information to set up their collections.
IED will later on select samples from exhibitors collections to arrange the Trend Forum at the trade show, a special area, designed by IED where visitors, buyers and designers will dive in a world of ideas to create their collections 2017.
