Sometimes we invite our friends to our house. We often serve them fruits or drinks. Our friends often refuse politely. Maybe they don't want to trouble us. It also shows their politeness. We still give them fruits or drinks.

However， British and American people respect one's own decision. "Yes" means one needs it. They will offer you fruits or drinks. "No" means one doesn't. So they won't offer you. Politeness is usually shown by saying "thank you" or "please".

有时邀请朋友到家中作客，我们会招待他们水果或饮料。朋友通常会有礼貌地拒绝，也许他们不想麻烦我们，不过这也说明他们懂礼貌。通常我们仍然会给他们水果或饮料。

不过，英国或美国人尊重别人的决定。如果你说“要”，就说明你需要水果或饮料，他们就会招待你。如果你说“不要”，就说明你不要，他们也就不会招待你啦。如果你想表示礼貌，你只要说“谢谢”或“请”就可以了。
