On Sunday， Kobe Bryant became the third highest scoring NBA player of all time！

Bryant， who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers， made a pair of free throws during the last five minutes and 24 seconds remaining in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

Those two shots became his 32，292nd and 32，293rd points， putting him just higher than the Michael Jordans career total of 32，292 points.

The first and second positions are held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 38，387 points and Karl Malone with 36，928， both of whom are retired. Bryant is the only active player in the top eight.

After Bryant made the free throws， the game stopped for a while so his teammates could celebrate his viciory--something Jordan also did.

“I congratulate Kobe on reaching this milestone. Hes obviously a great player， with a strong work ethic and has an equally strong passion for the game of basketball. Ive enjoyed watching his game development over the years， and I look forward to seeing what he will do next，” Jordan said in a statement.
