The Role of Internet on EFL Teaching and Learning in Senior High School

The rapid development of modern information technology is deeply changing our learning environment and the construction model of knowledge,especially the rising of the Internet provides unlimited space for the computer aided teaching.Internet English teaching is a new attempt to combine the network resources organically with the English teaching.Based on this,this article will discuss the Internet age and English teaching in high school.

The Internet is a huge inclusive information source,which not only includes rich linguistic and cultural resources,but also includes much irrelevant or unhealthy content.It require the students to obtain a strong sense of self-control and responsibility to really use this learning resources,since any unstable factor in the students' psychology can affect their learning effect in a varying degree.

The students can get psychological help through the network to tell the problem they don't want to let others know.Students can be anonymous or hidden themselves to put their confusion and difficult to the teacher or other psychological counseling through Internet seek the solutions.Teachers should also have their own e-mail to answer the questions raised by the students,including psychological counseling.Once the students establish the correct attitude,the students obtain the initiative of learning and they might make huge progress in the study that can surprise everyone.

The ultimate goal of learning language is to communication,and only through communication can really learn a language.Internet can effectively make up for the limitations of students' real life and it is a tool of transmitting information beyond the time and space.As a social intermediary cooperation,it change the language into a communication in reality,emphasizes the use of real natural language,and promote the sharing of resources,stress the learners to actively participate in,because of its abundant resources and strong interactivity,it become the effective learning tools to make students be the main body through communication.Today,as a new model computer media communication,more the Internet has be accepted by more people.

The application of network technology makes the methods of learning English develop towards the direction of individual learning,active learning in free time and places.

The more students participate in the study,the more knowledge they will obtain.So it will changes the teacher-centered teaching mode and determines the students as the center,which pays more attention to the cultivation the ability of language application and self-learning.The teachers should abandon the authority of superior become the guider and organizer of online English learning.At the same time,computer media also offers many extracurricular opportunities for contact between the teacher and the students.Through knowledge and psychological exchanges online,the relationship between the teachers and students can be strengthened and becomes more harmonious.

The realization of Internet teaching needs the teacher to improve their ability of operating the modern teaching tools and equipment,which require the teachers to renew the knowledge and ability of themselves.In addition to mastering the professional knowledge and the certain teaching skills,they also need to obtain the advanced computer and network skills.At the same time,online resources updated quickly,a wide range of teachers should always accept the new knowledge and deal with the psychological preparation.Only in this way can the teachers continue to learn to use the Internet resources as the teaching service.Meanwhile,the Internet also gives teachers more opportunity to enrich the knowledge and maintain imagination and creativity through online self training.

During the processing of learning English,and computer technology of the students has also been improved.The two factors complement each other.The students will greatly improve the speed of online browsing,and get a lot of information to obtain the ability of identifying,selecting,absorbing and applying new knowledge through interactive learning.Internet communication can also help their FAQ,extended their learning from the classroom to extra-curricular learning,from teacher guidance into autonomous learning,from passive to active.Some researchers have pointed out that: from the environmental conversion from teaching-centered to learning-centered,the students become the life-long learners,which greatly promote the development of quality education.

In short,the Internet help the people exchange with each other,access to information and update the knowledge storage.It provides a new environment for better learning and application of English,and makes the process of language learning more colorful.Only combining the Internet with the traditional teaching can we provide a broader platform for English teaching and make the teaching of English more effective and efficient.The change of the times and the renewal of teaching ideas grant the new mission and new features to the modern education,and deeply prompt the teachers role to update and sublimate.The research on the Internet English education will have the important enlightenment to the reform of the English teaching in high school.
